Gregory Allen Engel (born January 18, 1971) is a former American football center who played five seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the San Diego Chargers and Detroit Lions. He played college football at The University of Illinois and attended Bloomington High School in Bloomington, Illinois. He was also a member of the Berlin Thunder of NFL Europe. [2]

The Bloomington Edge was a professional indoor football team based in Bloomington, Illinois. While it was in operation, the team hosted home games at Grossinger Motors Arena. Originally named the Bloomington Extreme, the team was a member of United Indoor Football (UIF), and joined the Indoor Football League (IFL) in 2009 during the UIF and Intense Football League merger. They left the IFL for the Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL) in 2013, and in 2015 the CPIFL merged with the Lone Star Football League (LSFL) to create Champions Indoor Football (CIF), where Bloomington did not follow and joined X-League Indoor Football (X-League). Following the 2015 season the Edge joined the CIF. The Edge then announced it had rejoined the IFL for the 2018 season, but a court ruling prevented the team from joining the league until 2019, however, they were not included in that season's schedule.

The 2001 Cal Poly Mustangs football team represented California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo as an independent during the 2001 NCAA Division I-AA football season. Led by first-year head coach Rich Ellerson, Cal Poly compiled a record of 6–5. The team outscored its opponents 292 to 248 for the season. The Mustangs played home games at Mustang Stadium in San Luis Obispo, California.

Libero Lorenz "Bert" Bertagnolli was an American football player and coach. He played college football at Washington University in St. Louis and professionally in the National Football League (NFL) with the Chicago Bears, in 1942 and 1945. Bertagnolli was the head football coach at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois from 1951 to 1953, compiling a record of 11–12–2. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Bertagnolli later coached football, swimming, and tennis, at Bloomington High School in Bloomington, Illinois. He died on September 14, 1992, at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, in Bloomington, Illinois.
