Greg Prosser (born 21 May 1966) is a Welsh former international rugby union player who represented the Wales national team on one occasion during the 1995 Rugby World Cup. He played in the top division of Welsh club rugby for Pontypridd RFC, where he spent a total of twelve seasons, and Bridgend RFC for two seasons.

Rugby career

Prosser first joined Pontypridd RFC in the 1986-87 season. [2] Prosser moved to Bridgend RFC for the 1991-92 season. [3] He made 19 appearances for Bridgend over two seasons, before rejoining Pontypridd for the 1993/94 season.

Prosser was included in the Wales squad for the 1995 Rugby World Cup, and made his only appearance for the national team during the tournament, a 34-9 defeat to New Zealand. [4]

Prosser was part of the Pontypridd team that won the SWALEC Cup in 1996 and the Welsh Premier Division in the 1996-97 season. Between 1995 and 1999, he also made ten appearances for the invitational Barbarians side. [5] He left Pontypridd at the end of the 1999/2000 season to join Abercynon RFC. [6] Later he played for Llantwit Fardre RFC

Personal life

Prosser is the son of Ieuan Prosser, who played rugby for Aberavon RFC. He works as a police officer for South Wales Police. [7]

John Davies is a former Welsh rugby union prop. He spent much of his professional career playing for Llanelli RFC, and subsequently the Llanelli Scarlets regional side, where he now works as an academy coach. Davies also made 34 appearances for the Wales national team, scoring two tries.

Matthew Rees is a Welsh former professional rugby union footballer who played as a hooker. After beginning his career with Tonyrefail RFC and Merthyr RFC, he made his professional debut for Pontypridd RFC in 2001. With the arrival of regional rugby in Wales in 2003, he joined the Celtic Warriors, but their closure a year later led to him signing for the Llanelli Scarlets. He played more than 180 matches for the Scarlets, captaining them on several occasions, leading to his first Wales call-up in 2005.

Thomas Patrick David is a Welsh former dual-code international rugby union and rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. He played representative rugby union (RU) for Wales and the British Lions and rugby league (RL) for Wales. He was selected for the 1974 British Lions tour to South Africa, and at the time played club rugby for Llanelli RFC. He also played for his home-town club Pontypridd RFC, and while at the club was part of the 1976 Grand Slam winning Wales team. In 1981 he switched codes to rugby league, representing Cardiff City Blue Dragons.

Lee Jarvis is a former international Welsh rugby union player who was known as a top points scorer with the boot. His career has been spent in both Wales and England including top level rugby in Wales and in the Celtic League, winning a number of trophies in both countries. He has represented Wales from school level to full international honours as well as being selected by the Barbarians. Despite being tipped as the "next best thing" during his early career and being a great points kicker Jarvis only earned one cap for Wales at full international level. After retiring from rugby union as a player, Jarvis took up coaching. He is currently head coach at Rhydyfelin RFC.

Kingsley Jones is a Welsh rugby union coach, currently in charge of the Canadian national team. A former Welsh international player, Jones has played and coached at various levels, from playing at the amateur level to the professional level in Wales and England. He since gone on to become a professional coach at club and international level.

William Justin Lloyd Thomas is a Welsh International rugby union player. He made nine appearances for the Wales national team, as well as representing Llanelli RFC Cardiff RFC, Newport RFC and Caerphilly RFC in the top division of Welsh club rugby.

Aled Williams is a Welsh former international rugby union player who made two appearances for the Wales national team, both as a replacement. He played in the top division of Welsh club rugby for Swansea RFC and Bridgend RFC between 1983 and 1997.
