Michael Griffiths (born 18 March 1962) [1] is a former Welsh rugby union player and British Lion, [2] currently coaching Ystrad Rhondda RFC in the Welsh Rugby Union Division 2 East. He plied his trade with Pontypridd RFC between 1997 and 2003, making 73 appearances.
Griffiths's father is George Griffiths, a builder, and his mother is Joy Griffiths. He has two sons, Joel Michael and Luc Rhys. They both play for Ystrad Rhondda RFC.

Pontypridd is a town and a community in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales.
The Celtic Warriors were a rugby union team from Wales, who played in the 2003–04 Celtic League and the 2003–04 Heineken Cup following the introduction of regional rugby union teams in Wales. They were effectively a temporary merger of Pontypridd RFC and Bridgend RFC. The Celtic Warriors played just one season before disbanding.

He was a member of the first Wales international team that played England in 1881. At the time of the game he was still a student at Cowbridge, and later became a medical student at St Bartholomew's Hospital.
Lee Jarvis is a former international Welsh rugby union player who was known as a top points scorer with the boot. His career has been spent in both Wales and England including top level rugby in Wales and in the Celtic League, winning a number of trophies in both countries. He has represented Wales from school level to full international honours as well as being selected by the Barbarians. Despite being tipped as the "next best thing" during his early career and being a great points kicker Jarvis only earned one cap for Wales at full international level. After retiring from rugby union as a player, Jarvis took up coaching. He is currently head coach at Rhydyfelin RFC.

Llwynypia RFC was a rugby union club located in the Welsh village of Llwynypia in the Rhondda. The team provided several international players during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, most notably Willie Llewellyn, who was not only selected to represent Wales while playing at the club, but later played for the British Isles on their 1904 tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Thomas Williams was a Welsh rugby union forward who played club rugby for Cardiff and Pontypridd and international rugby for Wales. A solicitor by profession, Williams would later become a national selector for the Welsh Rugby Union. Williams was also responsible for suggesting the singing of the Welsh national anthem in a match in 1905, the first time a national anthem was sung before a sporting event.
Lee Beach is a Welsh rugby union player. Lee was born and raised in Maerdy in Rhondda Valleys. Lee started his rugby life playing for his Home Team Maerdy RFC and Tylorstown RFC youth, Lee was noticed by scouts from around Wales and was signed up by Pontypridd RFC at the age of 18. Lee initially played his club rugby for Pontypridd RFC, and was involved with developing other young players as a rugby development officer. he then played for Neath RFC then followed by a couple of years at the Ospreys where he played alongside the likes of Shane Williams, Lee Byrne, Alyn Wyn Jones, James Hook, Andy Powell, Lee played in the famous victory when the Ospreys beat Australia national team at the liberty stadium.
John Evans was a Welsh international rugby union forward who later 'went North', switching to the professional rugby league code. Evans played for several teams, but is most notable for playing club rugby for Llanelli, and international rugby for Wales.
Mark Lewis was a Welsh international rugby union wing who played club rugby for Treorchy and Llwynypia and international rugby for Wales.
Christopher Seldon is a Welsh former rugby union and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales 'B', and at club level for Pontypridd RFC, as a back row, i.e. flanker, or number eight, and representative level rugby league (RL) for Wales, and at club level for St. Helens and Cardiff City Blue Dragons, as a prop, or second-row.
Seb Davies is a Welsh rugby union player who plays for Cardiff Rugby as a lock and can also play flanker. He is an ex-Wales under-20 international and full Welsh international.
