Paul Michael Dean (born 28 June 1960) [1] is a former Irish international rugby union player. He toured Australia in 1989 with the British and Irish Lions [2] and at the time played club rugby for St. Mary's College RFC.
Paul Dean was educated at St Mary's College, Rathmines.
He won five schools international caps in 1977 and 1978 followed by a 'B' cap against England in 1980.
He was out-half on Mick Doyle's Triple Crown-winning squad of 1985.
He scored four tries and a drop goal in his 32 international caps over an eight-year period.
His final appearance was against Scotland in 1989. Dean is currently the manager of the Ireland senior men's international rugby team.

Wood is considered by many to be the best hooker in rugby union during his era, winning the inaugural World Rugby Player of the Year, and among the best hookers in the history of the game.
Nathan Hines is an Australian-born former rugby union and rugby league footballer. He played at international level for Scotland, winning 77 caps, and at club level for Edinburgh, Perpignan, and Clermont Auvergne among others. He also played rugby league.

O'Driscoll captained the London Irish team that reached the final of the 1980 John Player Cup.
Hugh Patrick MacNeill, commonly known as Hugo MacNeill, is a former rugby union player who played for Ireland, Leinster, the French Barbarians and the British and Irish Lions during the 1980s. During the late 1970s he also played soccer for University College Dublin and Dublin University. After retiring from sport, MacNeill went on to serve as a director for Goldman Sachs. He has also worked as a rugby pundit for TV3 and BBC Radio 5 Live.
The 1981 Ireland rugby union tour of South Africa was a series of matches played by the Ireland national rugby union team in South Africa in May and June 1981. The Irish team played seven matches, of which they won three. They lost the Test Series 2–0 to the Springboks.
William Albert Mulcahy is a retired Irish rugby union player. He represented UL Bohemians R.F.C. University College Dublin R.F.C., Bective Rangers, Skerries RFC, Leinster, Ireland and the British and Irish Lions. He was educated at St Munchin's College, Limerick.
George William Norton was an Irish rugby union player who played in the fullback position. Norton played club rugby with Bective Rangers, represented Leinster at provincial level, was capped 11 times for Ireland, and was a member of the British Lions team that toured in 1950.
Conor Dean is an Irish rugby union player who is currently a member of the Connacht academy. He plays as a fly-half.
Michael Anthony Francis English was an Irish rugby union player, who won 16 caps for Ireland between 1958 and 1963, and was selected for the 1959 British Lions tour to Australia and New Zealand, though injury prevented English from winning any test caps for the touring side.
