Greta West is a locality in north-east Victoria, Australia. At the 2016 census, Greta West had a population of 162. [1]
Ned Kelly, bushranger, lived for a short while near Greta West.
The township was settled in the 1890s, the Post Office opening on 18 April 1892 (closed 1994). [2]
The Rural City of Wangaratta is a local government area in the Hume region of Victoria, Australia, located in the north-east part of the state. It covers an area of 3,645 square kilometres (1,407 sq mi) and, in June 2018, had a population of 29,087. It includes the towns of Cheshunt, Eldorado, Everton, Glenrowan, Greta, Greta West, Milawa, Moyhu, Oxley, Tarrawingee, Wangaratta and Whitfield.
