Greystone Golf & Country Club is a private 36-hole golf club in the southeastern United States, located in Hoover, Alabama, a suburb southeast of Birmingham.

Opened 32 years ago in 1991, the first of the two courses was the Founders Course, designed by Bob Cupp and Hubert Green. The Legacy Course opened in 2000, designed by Rees Jones. The Legacy Course is currently ranked #89 in Golf Week's Top 100 Residential Courses. [4]

From 19922005, the club hosted the Bruno's Memorial Classic on the senior tour. The Founders Course was so beloved by the players, officials, and media that they voted it in a Sports Illustrated poll as the #1 stop on the tour two years in a row. [5] [6]

Since 2016, the Founders Course has hosted the Regions Traditions, a senior major championship. It had been held nearby at Shoal Creek for the previous five editions.

The Tradition is an event on the PGA Tour Champions. First staged 34 years ago in 1989, the PGA Tour recognizes the event as one of the five senior major golf championships. Unlike the U.S. Senior Open, Senior PGA Championship and Senior Open Championship, it is not recognized as a major by the European Senior Tour, and is not part of that tour's official schedule. It is the only senior major where the winner does not earn an exemption into a PGA Tour or European Tour event.

It was originally held at Greystone Golf & Country Club and moved to Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa, one of ten courses on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, located in Hoover, Alabama in 2006. The tournament was founded in 1991 by Birmingham-based Bruno's Supermarkets. The event was managed by the Bruno family under its Bruno Event Team company.
