Una is a district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Una shares its border with the Hoshiarpur and Rupnagar districts of Punjab and Kangra, Hamirpur and Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. The terrain is generally semi-hilly with low hills. Una has been identified as a main industrial hub and has become a transit town for travellers going to the city of Dharamshala or locations within the Himalayas such as Kullu, Manali, Jawalamukhi, and Chintpurni.
Nath, also called Natha, are a Shaiva sub-tradition within Hinduism. A medieval movement, it combined ideas from Buddhism, Shaivism and Yoga traditions in India. The Naths have been a confederation of devotees who consider Shiva, as their first lord or guru, with varying lists of additional lords. Of these, the 9th or 10th century Matsyendranath and the ideas and organization mainly developed by Gorakhnath are particularly important. Gorakhnath is considered the originator of the Nath Panth.

Gauriganj has a warm subtropical climate with very cold and dry winters and hot and humid summers. The divine goddess Gauri is the major deity of Gauriganj and the town named after her.

Mahant Balaknath is an Indian politician and current Member of Parliament from Alwar Lok Sabha constituency in Rajasthan. He is Chancellor of the Baba Mast Nath University (BMU). He is also 8th chief/ Mahant of the Nath sect of Hinduism. On 29 July 2016, Mahant Chandnath declared Balaknath as his successor in a ceremony which was attended by Yogi Adityanath and Baba Ramdev.
