Hindu Temple of Frisco(Sri Vivekananda Temple) is a Hindu Temple located in Frisco, Texas. Its address is 9188 Kyser Way, Frisco, Texas 75033 [1] . Its one of two Hindu Temples located in Frisco, the other one being Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple.

History

In April 2018, The IRS recognized the Hindu Temple of Frisco as a Religious Organization and available to certain tax exemptions [2] . In May 2018, The Hindu Temple of Frisco held its opening ceremony [3] . HT Frisco attended a city meeting on hiring a new police chief for Frisco Police Department in 2019, citing the need for a new police chief to recognize the ideals and desires of a diverse community [4] .

The St. Louis–San Francisco Railway, also known as the "Frisco", was a railroad that operated in the Midwest and South Central U.S. from 1876 to April 17, 1980. At the end of 1970 it operated 4,547 miles (7,318 km) of road on 6,574 miles (10,580 km) of track, not including subsidiaries Quanah, Acme and Pacific Railway or the Alabama, Tennessee and Northern Railroad; that year it reported 12,795 million ton-miles of revenue freight and no passengers. It was purchased and absorbed into the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1980. Despite its name, it never came close to San Francisco.

Waytha Moorthy Ponnusamy sometimes spelled Waythamoorthy is a Malaysian politician, lawyer and activist formerly serving as the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of National Unity and Social Wellbeing since 2018 under Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad in the current Cabinet of the Pakatan Harapan coalition. In addition, he has also served as the Senator in the Dewan Negara, the upper house of the bicameral Parliament of Malaysia since 2018 after being appointed by his majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong Abdullah. He is a Barrister from Lincoln's Inn and began his career as a lawyer in Malaysia in 1997. Waytha's work involved public interest litigation relating to arbitrary arrests, unlawful deaths in police custody, extrajudicial killings; police abuse of detainees; denial of the grant of citizenship status to ethnic Indians born in Malaysia, forced conversion of ethnic Indians to Islam, unlawful demolition of Hindu Temples or places of worship; and denial of government compensation to ethnic Indian Estate/Plantation workers. Much of Waytha's work was done pro bono due to a lack of public funds allocated to those areas of the law. He is well known among Malaysian Indians as the Founder of Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF) and his domestic and international campaign to fight discrimination against Malaysian Hindus.
