The Gumbs cabinet was a coalition cabinet in Sint Maarten formed by the United People's Party and independent members of Parliament Cornelius de Weever and Leona Marlin-Romeo.

Sint Maarten country on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin, part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

Sint Maarten is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Caribbean Sea. With a population of 40,120 on an area of 37 km2 (14 sq mi), it encompasses the southern 40% of the divided island of Saint Martin, while the northern 60% of the island constitutes the French overseas collectivity of Saint-Martin, the only place that France borders the Netherlands. Sint Maarten's capital is Philipsburg.

The United People's Party is a political party in Sint Maarten founded in 2010. The party currently holds five seats in the Parliament of Sint Maarten.

Leona Marlin-Romeo Dutch politician

Leona M. Marlin-Romeo is a Sint Maarten politician and the current Prime Minister of Sint Maarten. She was selected as Prime Minister in the coalition agreement between the United People's Party, the Democratic Party and the independent member of Parliament Chanel Brownbill. She previously served as a Member of Parliament from 2014 to 2016.

The cabinet succeeded the Third Wescot-Williams cabinet following the 2014 general elections, and was installed by Governor Eugene Holiday on 19 December 2014. [4] [5] It fell on 30 September following a vote of non-confidence with 3 coalition party members voting in favour. [6]

Eugene Holiday Governor of Sint Maarten

Eugene Bernard Holiday is the first Governor of Sint Maarten, which became a country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 10 October 2010. He was installed by the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 7 September 2010. He was president of Princess Juliana International Airport before assuming his office as governor.

The 'National Alliance' is a political alliance in Sint Maarten, formed by the Sint Maarten Patriotic Alliance and the National Progressive Party. It is one of main political parties within Sint Maarten. Even though her party only managed to secure two seats in the Sint Maarten general election of 2010, she was selected as Prime Minister in the coalition agreement between United People and the Democratic Party.

First Wescot-Williams cabinet

The First Wescot-Williams cabinet was the first Cabinet of Sint Maarten installed following the achievement of constituent country status of Sint Maarten within the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 10 October 2010. Government formation followed the September 2010 Sint Maarten general election, which saw the National Alliance emerge as the largest party. Nevertheless, the coalition was formed by the Democratic Party and the United Peoples party. Despite only winning two seats, the office of Prime Minister was delivered by DP's head Sarah Wescot-Williams.

The third Wescot-Williams cabinet was the Third Cabinet of Sint Maarten installed following the achievement of constituent country status of Sint Maarten within the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 10 October 2010. The cabinet was a coalition between the United People's Party, the Democratic Party, and independent member of parliament Romain Laville.

United St. Maarten Party political party in Sint Maarten

The United St. Maarten Party is a political party in Sint Maarten founded in 2013 by former National Alliance deputy leader Frans Richardson. The party currently holds one seat in the Parliament of Sint Maarten. In the 2014 general elections, the party obtained 2 seats. However, their then (MP)-elect Leona Marlin-Romeo left the US Party and became an independent member of parliament.

Marcel Gumbs Prime Minister of Sint Maarten

Marcel Faustiano Augustin Gumbs is a Sint Maarten politician who served as the 2nd Prime Minister of Sint Maarten from 2014 to 2015. He was selected as Prime Minister in the coalition agreement between the United People's Party and the independent Members Parliament Cornelius de Weever and Leona Marlin-Romeo. Prior to becoming Prime Minister he served as a member on the Sint Maarten Council of Advise.

Josianne Fleming-Artsen is an educator and politician, who served as Minister Plenipotentiary of Sint Maarten from 2014 to 2015 and Deputy Minister Plenipotentiary of Sint Maarten from 2013 to 2014. She served as president of the University of St. Martin from 1999 to 2010.

William Marlin politician

William Marlin is a Sint Maarten politician who served as the 3rd Prime Minister of Sint Maarten from 2015 to 2017. Marlin was the leader of the National Alliance, and was the leader of the First and Second Marlin cabinet.

Rafael A. Boasman was Prime Minister of Sint Maarten from 24 November 2017 to 15 January 2018. From 20 December 2016 to 15 January 2018, Boasman was also the Minister of Justice. He was also Minister of Healthcare, Social Development, and Labor from 7 September 2015 to 19 November 2015 and Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications from 20 December 2016 to 4 April 2017.

Jorien Wuite is a Sint Maarten politician and member of the United Democrats. She has been Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Affairs since January 2018.

The Second Marlin-Romeo cabinet is the current cabinet of Sint Maarten. It is part of the executive branch of the Sint Maarten Government and is formed by a coalition government of the political parties United Democrats and the St. Maarten Christian Party.
