Gus van Go is a Canadian-American producer, mixer, [1] and musician best known for his work with The Beaches, Metric, Arkells, [2] The Stills, The Sam Roberts Band, Lowell, Whitehorse, [3] and Hollerado. Some of his other work includes Wintersleep, Michael Rault, Terra Lightfoot, Said The Whale, The Trews, and Priestess. He is also a member of the band Megative, along with Tim Fletcher (ex-lead-singer of The Stills) and Jamaican reggae vocalist Screechy Dan.
van Go (born Gustavo Coriandoli), was born in Mar Del Plata, Argentina. His family subsequently moved to Montreal and he is now a naturalized American and Canadian citizen. [4]
van Go began his musical career as lead-singer/guitarist for the Montreal cult-band Me Mom & Morgentaler. [5] [4] The band established a following in the 1990s, and was known for its extravagant and theatrical live shows. [4] In 1999, over 10,000 attended the band's reunion concert in Quebec City.[ citation needed ]
In 2001, he moved to New York City, where he met musician and producer Werner F. The two began working together in 2003 when they produced The Stills’ debut album Logic Will Break Your Heart , [6] which received favorable reviews from critics. In 2006 they built The Boiler Room Studio in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, [4] where they've since produced and mixed many albums [7] including Fast Romantics, [8] Monster Truck, Matt Mays, Glorious Sons, The Elwins, Michael Rault, as well as many popular French language artists from Quebec like Les Trois Accords and Cowboys Fringants.
Van Go currently divides his time between his Brooklyn and Montreal studios.
Van Go was personally nominated for a Juno award in 2018 for his work with the group Whitehorse and Singer-songwriter Terra Lightfoot. Both artists’ albums were also nominated for Best Album in the Adult Alternative category that year, each produced and mixed by Gus van Go and his partner Werner F.
He was nominated for an Engineer Of The Year Juno award in 2015 for the Whitehorse album Leave No Bridge Unburned , [9] which took home the Juno award for Alternative Album of the Year. [10]
In 2015, he produced and mixed the album Octobre by French-language neo-trad band Les Cowboys Fringants which reached #1 in the Quebec charts, attained gold-record status, and was awarded Rock Album of the Year at the 2016 ADISQ awards ceremonies.
In 2013 and 2010, he was nominated for Producer of The Year at Quebec's ADISQ awards for his work with Les Trois Accords.
Oceans Will Rise , the third release from The Stills, was awarded a Juno Award for 'Alternative Album of the Year' during the 2009 Juno Awards Gala on March 28, 2009. [11] In 2008, Vulgaires Machins’ Compter Les Corps (another Gus van Go & Werner F production) was nominated for a Juno Award for "Best French-Language Album".

Les Cowboys Fringants are a Quebecker folk rock band formed in 1995 in Repentigny, Quebec. The French word fringant can be translated as "dashing", or "frisky".
The Félix Award is an award, given by the Association du disque, de l'industrie du spectacle québécois (ADISQ) on an annual basis to artists working in the music and humor industry in the Canadian province of Quebec.
Dubmatique is a French Canadian hip hop group formed in the 1990s in Montreal, Quebec. Groupmates Dj Choice, OTMC, and Jérôme-Philippe are the first French-language hip-hop group from Canada to have a number one hit single on the francophone pop charts. Dubmatique is often regarded as one of the groups that launched French Canadian Hip Hop, and within this category they are the only group to have an album certified Platinum.

Passe-Partout was a Canadian French-language children's television program funded by the Quebec ministry of education and produced by Radio-Québec from 1977 to 1992. It was revived in 2019 with a new cast and cancelled once more in August 2024. The show, which also aired on Radio-Canada and TVOntario, had a duration of thirty minutes per episode and included both live actors and puppets, though there was no interaction between the two.

Dany Bédar is a francophone Québécois singer from Val-d'Or in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec, Canada. At the age of 19, Bédar moved to Montreal, where he played bass guitar with the local band La Chicane from 1999 to 2007, quickly demonstrating his talents as a composer with "Tu m'manques," which earned three Félix Awards and one Juno Award.
Rah Rah was an indie rock musical group formed in 2006 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. They toured extensively across North America and Europe. The band released four full-length albums, including 2015's Vessels. After a three-year hiatus, the band played three final live shows in December of 2019 and disbanded.

Milk & Bone are a Canadian electropop duo based in Montreal, Quebec, consisting of Laurence Lafond-Beaulne and Camille Poliquin. Although both of the band members are francophones, they write and record in English.

Rossignuoli (Walter) Rossi was an Italian-Canadian musician who was active from the 1960s to 2000s. As a guitarist, he played for Wilson Pickett and the Buddy Miles Express in the 1960s. With his own bands, Rossi played with Influence and Luke & The Apostles from the 1960s to 1970s. After his tenure with the band Charlee, he worked as a session musician throughout the 1970s with Boule Noire, Michel Pagliaro and Nanette Workman. As a musician, Rossi debuted with his self-titled album in 1976. Following Walter Rossi, he released Six Strings, Nine Lives in 1978 and Diamonds For the Kid in 1980.
Zal Sissokho is a Senegalese-Canadian musician based in Montreal, Quebec. He is most noted for his 2020 album Kora Flamenca, an exploration of the fusion of African kora with Spanish flamenco which won the Félix Award for World Music Album of the Year at the 42nd Félix Awards. The album has also been shortlisted for the Juno Award for World Music Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2021, and won the Canadian Folk Music Award for World Music Album of the Year at the 16th Canadian Folk Music Awards.
