Gwong people ( Hausa: Kagoma) are a people found in the southern part of Kaduna State, Nigeria. Their language, Gyong language belongs to the central plateau language group. [1] Their headquarters is at Fadan Kagoma, Jema'a Local Government Area of the state. [2] [3]

Religion

The Gwong people are predominantly Christians who make up about 78.00% of the population (of whom Protestants number about 60.00%, Roman Catholics 20.00% and Independent 20.00%). The remaining 22.00% of the overall population being adherents of traditional religion. [1]

The Gwong people's realm is called Gwong Chiefdom and its rulers are known by the appellation Kpop. The current monarch is His Royal Highness (HRH) Col. Paul Zakka Wyom (rtd.), Kpop Gwong II. [6] [5] [4]

Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa was a Nigerian politician who served as governor of Kaduna State from 2010 to 2012. He was appointed deputy governor in July 2005, and returned as deputy governor in the April 2007 elections. He was sworn in as governor on 20 May 2010, replacing former governor Namadi Sambo who had been sworn in as vice president the day before. Yakowa successfully ran for election as Kaduna Governor in the 26 April 2011 polls.

Paul Zakka Wyom, also Paul Zakka Wyoms is the monarch of Gwong Chiefdom, a Nigerian traditional state in southern Kaduna State, Nigeria. He is also known by the title Kpop Gwong II. He was the spokesman on behalf of other monarchs at the burial preceding of a fellow Southern Kaduna monarch, murdered in early 2018. He is a first class monarch of the Gwong people.
