Gyeongju Citizen FC was a South Korean football club based in the city of Gyeongju. It is a former member of the K3 League, the third tier of league football in South Korea until 2020 season.

Gyeongju Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power FC or simply Gyeongju KHNP is a South Korean football team based in Gyeongju. They currently compete in the K3 League. They are run by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, and play their home games at Gyeongju Civic Stadium.
Gangneung Citizen FC is a South Korean Association football club based in the city of Gangneung. Currently Gangneung Citizen FC plays in the K3 League. In 2019 they became the final champions of the Korea National League before it was integrated into the K3 League.
The K3 League was a South Korean amateur football league held annually from 2007 to 2019. It was considered the third-highest division of the South Korean football league system before the K League 2 was launched in 2013, and the fourth-highest division since then. In 2017, it was divided into K3 League Advanced and fifth-tier league K3 League Basic, and introduced a system of promotion and relegation. In 2020, it was reborn as a semi-professional league after merging with the Korea National League.

In this season, the K3 League was renamed the "Challengers League", and 16 clubs participated after Samcheok Shinwoo Electronics and Yongin Citizen withdrew from the league. The participating clubs were divided into two groups, and the winners and runners-up of both groups qualified for the championship playoffs. All clubs had interleague play once after playing home and away season in each group.

In 2013, South Korea's Ministry of Employment and Labor hosted the National Works Club Championship for the first time, and gave qualifications for the 2014 Korean FA Cup to its top four teams. Seongnam FC became champions and qualified for the 2015 AFC Champions League.

The top three clubs of each group qualified for the championship playoffs after the home and away season of two groups and the interleague play. The first-placed team in the overall table directly qualified for the final and the other group winners advanced to the semi-final. The interleague games had to have penalty shoot-outs when they were finished as draws, and 0.5 points were awarded for a penalty shootout defeat.
