The 2022 K3 League was the third season of the K3 League as a semi-professional league. Its regular season was held from 26 February to 29 October 2022. [2]

Contents

Defending champions Gimpo FC became a professional club and joined the K League. Cheonan City and Cheongju FC are also going to be join the K League in the next year. [3]

The 16 participating teams played each other twice, and the bottom team advanced to the relegation play-off. The K3 League Championship which had been held in play-off format to decide champions before was not held since this year. [2]

The relegation play-off (K4 League promotion play-offs final) was contested between the bottom team of K3 League and the winners of K4 League play-off (semi-final).

The K3 League was a South Korean amateur football league held annually from 2007 to 2019. It was considered the third-highest division of the South Korean football league system before the K League 2 was launched in 2013, and the fourth-highest division since then. In 2017, it was divided into K3 League Advanced and fifth-tier league K3 League Basic, and introduced a system of promotion and relegation. In 2020, it was reborn as a semi-professional league after merging with the Korea National League.

K League is South Korea's professional football league. It includes the first division K League 1 and the second division K League 2.

The 2020 K4 League is the first season of the K4 League as a semi-professional league and the fourth tier of South Korean football league system. After the 2019 season, the former K3 League Basic went defunct and was rebranded into the K4 League. In the 2020 season, the K4 League will consist of 13 teams with 5 teams from K3 League Advanced, 6 teams from K3 League Basic, and 2 teams newly founded in 2019. The teams for the 2020 season were announced by the Korea Football Association on 19 December 2019.

Icheon Citizen have disbanded due to financial problems and haven't registered for the league, while Yeoju Citizen has submitted a new entry in the competition after first announcing their disbandment.

Dangjin Citizen FC is a football club based in Dangjin, South Korea. They were founded in 2020, and currently plays in the K4 League, a semi-professional league and the fourth tier of football in South Korea.

The 2022 K League 2 was the tenth season of the K League 2, the second-tier South Korean professional football league. The champions and the winners of the promotion play-offs could be promoted to the K League 1.

The 2022 Korean FA Cup, known as the 2022 Hana 1Q FA Cup due to sponsorship agreement with Hana Bank, was the 27th edition of the Korean FA Cup.

The 2022 K4 League was the third season of the K4 League as a semi-professional league and the fourth tier of South Korean football league system. Pocheon Citizen were the defending champions and promoted together with Siheung Citizen and Dangjin Citizen to 2022 K3 League. Pyeongtaek Citizen were relegated from 2021 K3 League and played in the K4 League for the first time.

The 2023 K4 League was the third season of the K4 League as a semi-professional league and the fourth tier of South Korean football league system. The regular season was from 25 February to 11 November 2023. Goyang KH FC was the defending champion but already dissolved. Promoted were Yangpyeong FC and Chuncheon Citizen to 2023 K3 League. Dangjin Citizen were relegated from 2022 K3 League via K3-K4 League relegation play-off and played in the K4 League after one season.

The 2023 K3 League was the third season of the K3 League as a semi-professional league and the third tier of South Korean football league system. The regular season was from 11 March to 11 November 2023. Changwon City FC were the defending champions.

The 2023 Korean FA Cup, known as the 2023 Hana 1Q FA Cup due to sponsorship agreement with Hana Bank, was the 28th edition of the Korean FA Cup. The winners qualified for the 2024–25 AFC Champions League Elite.
