Gymnastics at the 2007 Pan American Games consisted of three separate sets of events – artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, and trampoline gymnastics.
Men's and Women's Artistic Gymnastics have been contested at the Pan American Games since the 1951 edition. In 1987, Rhythmic Gymnastics was introduced. In 2007, Trampoline was added to the program.
At the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, three different gymnastics disciplines were contested: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline. The artistic gymnastics events were held on October 24–29. The rhythmic gymnastics events were held on October 21–24. The trampoline events were held on October 16–19. All three events were held at the Nissan Gymnastics Stadium.

Gymnastics competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from 11 to 20 July at the Ricoh Coliseum; due to naming rights the venue was known as the Toronto Coliseum for the duration of the games. The competition was split into three disciplines, artistic, rhythmic and trampoline. Women competed in all three disciplines whereas the men only took part in the artistic and trampoline competitions.
The 2010 Pan American Gymnastics Championships were held in Guadalajara, Mexico. Artistic gymnastics events were competed on September 2–5, 2010, while rhythmic gymnastics events were competed on December 2–5, 2010. The competition was organized by the Mexican Gymnastics Federation and approved by the International Gymnastics Federation.
The Pan American Gymnastics Union organizes Pan American Gymnastics Championships in different disciplines of gymnastics: men's and women's artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatic gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling, as well as aerobic gymnastics. The event was organized by the Peruvian Gymnastics Federation under the supervision of the Pan American Gymnastics Union and the International Gymnastics Federation, and served as qualification for the 2019 Pan American Games, which will also be held in Lima, Peru.

The 2021 Pan American Gymnastics Championships was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in June 2021. Three gymnastics disciplines were contested: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline. The event was originally to be held in the United States but was changed due to concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic. The event serves as qualification to the 2020 Olympic Games.
