Marco Monteiro (born 23 July 1966) is a Brazilian gymnast. He competed in seven events at the 1992 Summer Olympics. [1]
José Marco "Zé Marco" Nóbrega Ferreira de Melo is a former beach volleyball player from Brazil who won the silver medal in the men's beach team competition at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, partnering with Ricardo Santos. He also represented his native country at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.

Another athlete, Lenira Santos, was selected to compete in athletics but was forced to pull out due to injury. Monteiro was selected as the flag bearer for both the opening and closing ceremonies. Neither of the Cape Verdeans progressed beyond the first round.

The tournament was a single elimination tournament with a third place playoff played between the two losing semi-finalists.
