Men's and Women's Artistic Gymnastics have been contested at the Pan American Games since the 1951 edition. In 1987, Rhythmic Gymnastics was introduced. In 2007, Trampoline was added to the program.
Max Antony Whitlock is a British artistic gymnast. He is a six-time Olympic medalist, winning three golds and three bronzes, and a five time world medalist on the pommel horse with three gold and two silvers. He became Britain's first ever Olympic gold medalist in artistic gymnastics when he won both the men's floor and pommel horse exercises at the 2016 Summer Olympics. With fourteen medals and six titles in Olympic and world championships, Whitlock is the most successful gymnast in his nation's history, and the most successful pommel horse worker in gymnastics history; he has 8 global medals in the apparatus, including 5 global gold medals.
Oleg Yuriyovych Vernyayev is a Ukrainian artistic gymnast. He is the 2016 Olympic parallel bars champion and individual all-around silver medalist. Vernyayev is also the 2014 World parallel bars champion, the 2015 European individual all-around champion and the 2017 European individual all-around champion.

Manrique Larduet Bicet is a Cuban former artistic gymnast. Larduet grew up in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba and is famous for his history-making silver at the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He has also competed at the Pan American Games. At the 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, although he qualified first into the all-around, he had mistakes on floor exercise and pommel horse in the finals, and ended up in fifth place, the winner being Xiao Ruoteng of China.
