James Braid was a Scottish professional golfer and a member of the Great Triumvirate of the sport alongside Harry Vardon and John Henry Taylor. He won The Open Championship five times. He also was a renowned golf course architect. Braid is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Örgryte Idrottssällskap, commonly referred to as Örgryte IS, Örgryte or ÖIS or Öis, is a Swedish sports club based in Gothenburg. It consists of four departments, namely bowling, football, athletics and wrestling. However, the club is best known for its football department. The club was founded in 1887 which makes it the oldest active sports club in the country.

Watsonian Football Club is a rugby union club based in Edinburgh and part of the Scottish Rugby Union. The club is connected with George Watson's College as a club for former pupils, and changed its policy in the 1980s to be a fully open club, welcoming players of all abilities regardless of whether they attended the school or not. It is one of a small number of rugby union clubs entitled to call itself a 'football club', rather than a 'rugby football club'. The Connacht Senior Hurling Championship, known simply as the Connacht Championship, was an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Connacht Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It was the highest inter-county hurling competition in the province of Connacht, and was contested almost every year between 1900 and 1922 before a revival in the 1990s.

HVV is an amateur football club in The Hague, Netherlands. It was founded in 1883 as an extension of HCC, (The) Hague Cricket Club. In 1978, on the occasion of the club's centenary, Queen Juliana granted the club royal patronage, with prefix Koninklijke ("Royal"), because of its pioneering role in sport, including in the formation of the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) in 1889. Since then it has been called Koninklijke Haagse Cricket & Voetbal Vereniging, abbreviated KHC&VV. The club's grounds since 1898 have been at the 1,200-capacity "De Diepput", on the border between Benoordenhout and Wassenaar. It now also plays tennis, squash and judo and has around 1750 members.
John Ernest Laidlay was a Scottish amateur golfer. He invented the most popular golf grip used today, although the grip is credited to Harry Vardon, who took it up after Laidlay.

AVV RAP, in the long form Amsterdamsche Voetbalvereeniging RUN, Amstels, Progress, was a Dutch football club based in Amsterdam, playing in the Netherlands Football League Championship. The club existed from 1887 to 1914 and was the first cup champion of the Netherlands in the 1898–99 season. The club is most famous for being the winners of the first edition of the Coupe Van der Straeten Ponthoz in 1900, one of the world's first international footballing competitions, in which they played and defeated the reigning champions of Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands on three successive days.

The England–Scotland Amateur Match was an annual men's amateur golf competition organised by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, contested by teams representing England and Scotland, with the winners being presented with the Walker Cup. It was played from 1902 to 1931, although the match lapsed between 1913 and 1921. It was played in connection with The Amateur Championship, on the Saturday either before or after the championship.
