Hannes Baumann (born 9 August 1982) is a German sailor. [1] He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 49er class. [2]
Hannes Baumann was born in Bad Saarow-Pieskow. He started sailing at the age of 11 and started racing at 12. His favorites hobbies apart from sailing are : cycling, snowboarding, surfing. The person he admires the most is Robert Scheidt.

As of November 2014, Stanjek is ranked eighth in the world for the two-person keelboat by the International Sailing Federation, following his first-place effort at the ISAF World Cup Series and Star World Championship in Malcesine, Italy.

After the Games, Polgar decided to move into the Star class and eventually shared a gold-medal victory with his partner Markus Koy at the 2010 Europeans in Viareggio, Italy. A member of North German Regatta Club, Polgar trained most of his competitive sailing career under the tutelage of his Norwegian-born personal coach Rigo de Nijs.
