Harper is an unincorporated community in the Township of Sandcreek, Decatur County, Indiana, United States. [2] It has an alternate name, Bigrest. [1] [2]
The first post office, called Bigrest, opened in 1881. [3] Renamed Harper in 1882, the post office was discontinued in 1907. [4]
Decatur is a city in Root and Washington townships, Adams County, Indiana, United States. It is the county seat of Adams County. Decatur is home to Adams Memorial Hospital, which was designated as one of the "Top 100" Critical Access Hospitals in the United States. The population of Decatur was 9,913 at the 2020 census, up from 9,405 at the 2010 census.
Decatur Township is one of the nine townships in Marion County, Indiana, United States, and part of the consolidated city of Indianapolis. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 36,951. Located in the southwest corner of the county, the township is home to the Indianapolis International Airport main terminal. Through the White River, Decatur and Perry townships share the only water boundary among Marion County's townships.
