The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service (CFNIS) is the investigative arm of the Canadian Forces Military Police. The CFNIS is an independent military police unit that provides an independent investigative capability for the purpose of fair and impartial administration of military justice.

Hehr was named Minister of Veterans Affairs in the federal Cabinet,headed by Justin Trudeau,on November 4,2015,and was shuffled to be Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities in August 2017. Hehr resigned from cabinet on January 25,2018,after allegations of workplace misconduct surfaced from when he was the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for Calgary-Buffalo.
Jonathan Brian Denis,is a Canadian politician and lawyer. On May 9,2012,he was named Solicitor General,Attorney General,and Minister of Justice for the province of Alberta. He represented the constituency of Calgary-Acadia as a Progressive Conservative in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 2008 until 2015.

FIRs include details including the individuals' gender,race,the reason for the interaction,location,and the names of any associates,to build a database for unspecified future use. Officially,individuals are not legally detained,but this distinction is not clear. Carding programs have been shown to consume a considerable amount of police resources,with little to no verifiable results on the level of crime. Carding is also known to contribute to a disproportionate amount of black and Indigenous people being recorded in law enforcement databases. Consequences for Indigenous and racialized populations include mental and physical health problems,loss of trust with the police,disparities within the criminal justice system,and social disadvantage,including potential loss of educational and employment opportunities.

Tyler Shandro is a Canadian politician who served as the minister of justice and solicitor general of Alberta from February 2022 to June 2023. A member of the United Conservative Party (UCP),Shandro was elected to represent Calgary-Acadia in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in the 2019 provincial election. He was Alberta's minister of health from 2019 to 2021,and minister of labour and immigration from 2021 until he was named justice minister in 2022. He lost re-election in the 2023 provincial election.
