The 1904 Summer Olympics were an international multi-sport event held in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, from 1 July to 23 November 1904. Many events were conducted at what is now known as Francis Field on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis. This was the first time that the Olympic Games were held outside Europe.

He is the younger brother of Michel López Núñez, a Cuban amateur boxer. López was Cuba's flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics, and one of the country's flag bearers at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Ferenc Tóth was a Hungarian featherweight wrestler. He won a bronze medal at the 1948 Olympics in Greco-Roman wrestling, and placed 4th–5th in freestyle wrestling in 1936 and 1948. Between 1934 and 1947 Tóth won seven medals at European championships.
Vasyl Petrovych Fedoryshyn is a male wrestler from Ukraine, who competes in the men's -60 kg freestyle division.
Enrico Porro was an Italian Greco-Roman wrestler and Olympic champion. He was the first gold medal at the Olympic Games of the Italian military sports body Gruppo Sportivo della Marina Militare.

Lila Ram Sangwan was an Indian wrestler from Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana, who was the first Indian to win a gold medal in the Commonwealth Games. He won a gold medal in the heavyweight (100 kg) category in the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. Lila Ram competed in the freestyle wrestling in heavyweight and superheavyweight categories at the national as well as international level.
Egypt competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012, sending one of its largest delegations ever. A total of 110 Egyptian athletes participated in 83 events across 20 sports, with more women taking part than ever before. The nation's flagbearer in the opening ceremonies was Hesham Mesbah, a judoka who was Egypt's only medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Egypt won two medals during the course of the Games: Alaaeldin Abouelkassem earned silver in the men's foil, becoming the first competitor from an African nation to win a fencing medal, while Karam Gaber captured silver in the men's 84 kg Greco-Roman wrestling event. Two Egyptian weightlifters were awarded medals retroactively, after higher-ranked competitors were disqualified for doping: Abeer Abdelrahman took silver in the women's 75 kg event, while Tarek Yehia, received bronze in the men's 85 kg event. Among other achievements, Mostafa Mansour was the nation's first competitor in sprint canoeing while fencer Shaimaa El-Gammal became the first Egyptian female to appear in four editions of the Olympics.
Roman Andreyevich Vlasov is a Russian Greco-Roman wrestler. He is a two-time Olympic Champion, a three-time World Champion, and a four-time European Champion. He also won the gold medal at the 2013 Summer Universiade. Furthermore, he was runner-up at the 2013 World Championships and the 2014 and 2015 World Cup. Vlasov trains under Viktor Kuznetsov, the same coach who raised Aleksandr Karelin.

Christopher Lundy Campbell is an American wrestler. He was a bronze medalist in Freestyle wrestling at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. He won a gold medal at the 1981 World Wrestling Championships, and a Silver medal at the 1990 World Wrestling Championships. He is the oldest United States wrestler to medal at the Olympic Games. When he won his Olympic medal he was a month away from his 38th birthday.

Arayik Gevorgyan is a retired Armenian Freestyle wrestler. He is an Armenian Champion, European Champion, and three-time World Champion. Gevorgyan was awarded the Master of Sports of the USSR, International Class title in 1991 and the Honored Master of Sports of Armenia title in 1995.
Dilshod Aripov is an amateur Uzbekistani Greco-Roman wrestler, who played for the men's lightweight category. He is a two-time medalist at the Asian Games, and five-time at the Asian Wrestling Championships. Aripov also achieved his early international success by defeating Armenia's Karen Mnatsakanyan for a gold medal in the 58 kg class at the 2001 World Wrestling Championships in Patras, Greece.
Tage Juhl Weirum is a Danish wrestler. He competed in the men's Greco-Roman 68 kg at the 1972 Summer Olympics. The ninth at the World Championships in 1977. Fifth at the European Championships in 1970. He won five medals at the Nordic Championships in 1970-1978.
Choi Sang-sun is a South Korean wrestler. He competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics and the 2000 Summer Olympics. He also won the gold medal at the Asian Games in 1994 and 1998.
