Head in the Clouds II is the second compilation album by musical collective 88rising. It was released through 88rising and 12Tone Music on October 11, 2019. Guest appearances include Chungha, Phum Viphurit, Generations from Exile Tribe, GoldLink, Jackson Wang, Swae Lee, Major Lazer, Rhyme So, and Barney Bones. [1]

Promotion

On August 17, 2019, 88rising held their "Head in the Clouds" festival for the second year in a row at the Los Angeles State Historic Park. Just three days prior, they released "Indigo" as the first single off their upcoming second iteration of the collaborative album. [2] [3] They announced that the creative design of the album would be led by Japanese sci-fi illustrator Hajime Sorayama and executive production of the album would be led by Joji. [1] [4]

On October 8, 2019, 88rising announced the full track listing with a short promotional video. Along with the track listing, features from artists such as GoldLink, Swae Lee, Generations from Exile Tribe and Major Lazer were mentioned. [5]

In 2013, they signed a record deal with Mike WiLL Made-It's EarDrummers imprint. In January 2015, the duo released their debut album, SremmLife, which was certified platinum by the RIAA. In August 2016, the duo released their second album, SremmLife 2. During that same year, the duo also created their own record label, called SremmLife Crew Records. Known for his wide vocal range and genre-bending, Lee first saw mainstream recognition as one half of the hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd, which he formed with his brother Slim Jxmmi. They signed with Mike Will Made It's EarDrummer Records, an imprint of Interscope Records to release hit singles including "No Flex Zone," "No Type," and "Black Beatles", the latter of which topped the Billboard Hot 100. "Demente" is a song by South Korean singer Chungha and Puerto Rican rapper Guaynaa from her first Korean studio album Querencia. It was released on February 15, 2021, through MNH and 88rising. The song is the thirteenth track on the album, and was written by Lao Ra, Guaynaa, Tinashé Fazakerley and Vincenzo and produced by him and Fuxxy. "Demente" solidifies the singer's "versatility as she flawlessly sings in Spanish and Korean" over a reggaeton beat. The song marks the first collaboration between a Korean female soloist and a Latin singer. Lyrically, the song tell a story of a confused love that causes great sadness due to the lack of interest from a lover.
