Heamatangi Tu'ivai (born 11 November 1989) is a Tongan Athlete and rugby player who has represented Tonga at the Commonwealth Games and Pacific Mini Games.
Tu'ivai is from Hihifo in Haʻapai. [2]
At the 2009 Pacific Mini Games in Rarotonga in won silver in the 400 metres hurdles. [3] At the 2013 Pacific Mini Games in Mata Utu, Wallis and Futuna he won silver in the 400 meters and the 400 meters hurdles, and bronze as part of the 4 × 100 metres relay team. [4] He competed in the 400 meters at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, coming 7th in his heat. [2] At the 2013 Oceania Athletics Championships he won gold as part of the 4 × 100 metres relay team. [4] At the 2014 Oceania Athletics Championships he won bronze as part of the 4 × 100 metres relay team. [4] At the 2017 Oceania Athletics Championships he won bronze as part of the Tongan 4 × 400 metres relay team. [4]
Tu'ivai has also represented Tonga at rugby, as part of the Tonga A national rugby union team at the 2017 World Rugby Americas Pacific Challenge. [5]
The Tonga national rugby union team represents the Tonga Rugby Union in men's international rugby union. The team is nicknamed ʻIkale Tahi . Like their Polynesian neighbours, the Tongans start their matches with a traditional challenge – the Sipi Tau. They are members of the Pacific Islands Rugby Alliance (PIRA) along with Fiji and Samoa. The Ikale Tahi achieved a historic 19–14 victory over France in the 2011 Rugby World Cup, but having lost to New Zealand and Canada, were unable to achieve what would have been their first-ever presence at the quarter-finals.
Lee McConnell is a retired Scottish athlete, who competed in the 400 metres and 400 metres hurdles having started her career as a high jumper. She is a three-time Olympian who represented Great Britain in 2004, 2008 and 2012. With 12 medals from major championships, McConnell is the third most decorated Scottish track and field athlete of all-time.

Eilidh Doyle is a retired British track and field athlete. She represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and won an Olympic bronze medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. Individually, she is the 2014 European Champion and a three-time Commonwealth silver medalist in the 400 metres hurdles.

Janieve Russell is a Jamaican track and field athlete who competes mainly in the 400 metres hurdles and the 400 metres sprint. She won an Olympic bronze medal in the 4 × 400 m relay in Tokyo 2021, where she also finished fourth in the 400m hurdles final in a personal best of 53.08 secs. She is a four-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, winning the 400m hurdles title in 2018 and 2022, and the 4 × 400 m relay in 2014 and 2018. The 1997 South Pacific Mini Games were held at Pago Pago in American Samoa from 11 to 22 August 1997. It was the fifth edition of the South Pacific Mini Games. It was much larger than previous editions, with an almost doubling of the number of medals awarded compared to the 1993 South Pacific Mini Games. The championships was contested on three occasions: it was first held in 1976, had its second edition in 1978, then its final edition in 1984. Ten nations won medals at the competition during its lifetime. The competition emerged as a single-sport championship following in the footsteps of the region's multi-sport event established in 1963: the South Pacific Games. The athletics competition declined with the emergence of the South Pacific Mini Games in 1981, which was a smaller-scale event with athletics as its core sport.
