Josephine M. R. White deLacour was an American physician and suffragist and one of the first woman physicians in Delaware.
Ruth Wright Hayre was an American educator and administrator based chiefly in Philadelphia public schools in Pennsylvania. In 1946 she was the first African American to teach full-time at a high school in the district and,in the late 1950s,the first to be promoted to principal of a high school. After she retired,she was appointed to the Philadelphia Board of Education. In 1991 Hayre was chosen as its first female president,serving through 1992.
Isaac S. Flint was an Underground Railroad station master,lecturer,farmer,and a teacher. He saved Samuel D. Burris,a conductor on the Underground Railroad,from being sold into slavery after having been caught helping runaway enslaved people.
Emalea Pusey Warner was an American educator,clubwoman,and suffragist. She was the first president of the Delaware State Federation of Women's Clubs in 1898,and in 1927 she was the first woman appointed a trustee of the University of Delaware. She was inducted into the Delaware Women's Hall of Fame in 1982.
Lisa A. Borowski is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives,representing the 168th District since 2023.
Jessie Gray was a British-born American educator. She was elected president of the National Education Association in 1933,and in 1925 became the first woman president of the Pennsylvania State Education Association.
