"Hello (Paradise Kiss)" is the nineteenth single by Japanese pop singer-songwriter Yui. It was released on June 1, 2011.

Background and writing

The single was written and composed by YUI. She said that she attempted to make the song sound pop-like, while trying to add a slight pizzicato which she picked up from the atmosphere of Paradise Kiss. [1] She also said the song was one of deciding to prepare oneself, while finding answers as you mature.

Promotion and tie-ins

The A-Side "Hello (Paradise Kiss)" was composed to be the theme song of the live action movie Paradise Kiss based on the popular manga created by Ai Yazawa. The B-Side "You" was composed to be the ending song of the same movie. The first press editions came with original illustrations by Ai Yazawa and postcards were also included for some customers in Japan.

The music video depicts Yui in a variety of clothes while strumming a guitar.

Paradise Kiss, also abbreviated to ParaKiss, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ai Yazawa. It appeared as a serial in Shodensha's fashion magazine Zipper, with its chapters collected in five volumes. The series has also been adapted into a 12-episode anime series, produced by Aniplex and Studio Madhouse, and aired in Japan on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block.

Rikako Kakiuchi, professionally known by her stage name, Rina Aiuchi and formerly known as R, is a Japanese singer, songwriter, businesswoman, fashion model, and YouTuber. Born in Higashiōsaka, Japan, she won the first season of the audition Super Starlight Contest, winning a recording contract with Giza Studio. "Final Distance" is a song by Japanese recording artist Hikaru Utada for her third studio album Deep River (2002). Written by Utada herself, the song was produced and composed by long-time collaborators Akira Miyake, Utada's father Teruzane Utada and herself. "Final Distance" was originally recorded as "Distance" which was taken from the album with the same name, despite not being a single. The song was re-recorded, re-arranged, and dedicated to Rena Yamashita, a six-year-old victim of the Ikeda school massacre who had written an essay about being inspired by Utada. It was written, composed, and arranged by Utada, whilst production was handled by Utada, their father Teruzane Utada, and Akira Miyake. The single premiered on May 31, 2007 as the third single from the album in Japan. It was re-released as a double A-side single with "Beautiful World", which also appeared on the parent album on August 29 in Japan, and digitally worldwide. Musically, "Kiss & Cry" is an R&B song, influenced by pop and hip-hop music. Lyrically, it discusses both Utada's upbringing and social beliefs between both Western and oriental regions.

Erina Mano is a Japanese idol singer and actress formerly associated with Hello! Project. She joined in 2006 as a member of Hello Pro Egg, as a trainee. In 2007, she became a member of the Hello! Project futsal team Gatas Brilhantes H.P. and its musical group Ongaku Gatas. On March 29, 2008, she started a solo music career, working under the management and promotion of J.P Room. She continued with Hello! Project until 2013, and is now performing in solo music projects as well as acting in films and television.
