Hello Arsi is a 2018 Indian Odia romantic drama film written and directed by Sambit Mohanty, and produced by Ajaya Routray. The film stars Partha Sarathi Ray and Prakruti Mishra. [1] The film background score was composed by sound designer Subash Sahu, and its soundtrack was composed by Mitrabhanu Mohanty. [2] Critics praised the screenplay, story, and the acting of lead actress Prakruti Mishra. [3] Director Sambit Mohanty, who died shortly after filming, posthumously won a Rajat Kamal award for Best Screenplay (Dialogue).

Plot

The film tells the story of a girl named Arsi from Rourkela, India, who becomes a sex worker to survive. It explores topics of social alienation and industrialization, focusing more on ideas and actions rather than the characters. [4]

The film begins and ends in a car. The male protagonist remains unnamed for the duration of the film.

The first ever Sambalpuri movie released was Bhukha. It was released in the year 1989 and was directed by Sabyasachi Mohapatra. It was also the first film from Odisha to get an International Jury Award at the Gijon International Film Festival. The second film in Sambalpuri language is Ulugulan (Revolution), which was released in 2008, directed by Mahmood Hussain and produced by Purnabasi Sahu. Its story is set in the first half of the 18th century and depicts the tyrannical rule of the Nagpur rulers.

Kanhu Charan Mohanty was an Indian Odia language novelist who wrote fifty-six novels in a career spanning over six decades from 1930 to 1985. He is considered "one of the most popular and celebrated novelists of Odisa". Mohanty was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1958 for his novel, Kaa, published in 1956, and was one of the fellows of the Sahitya Akademi. Mohanty died on 6 April 1994 at the age of 87.

Apart from Odia and Hindi films, he composed music for Marathi and Bengali films. He composed the 2023 Men's FIH Hockey World Cup anthem.

The film stars Barsha Patnaik, Manoj Mishra, Sradha Panigrahi and Partha Sarathi Ray.Trikanya was released in theatres worldwide on International Women's day which was on 8 March 2024. It was considered as Anupam Patnaik's second film after Pratikshya.
