Helsinge station is a railway station serving the town of Helsinge in North Zealand, Denmark. [1]
Helsinge station is located on the Gribskov Line from Hillerød to Tisvildeleje. The station was opened in 1897 with the opening of the Kagerup-Helsinge section of the Gribskov Line. The train services are operated by the railway company Lokaltog which runs frequent local train services between Tisvildeleje station and Hillerød station.
Hillerød is a Danish town with a population of 36,227 located in the centre of North Zealand approximately 30 km to the northwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. Hillerød is the administrative centre of Hillerød Municipality and also the administrative seat of Region Hovedstaden, one of the five regions in Denmark. It is most known for its large Renaissance castle, Frederiksborg Castle, now home to the Museum of National History. Hillerød station is the terminus of one of the radials of the S-train network as well as several local railway lines. The town is surrounded by the former royal forests of Gribskov to the north and Store Dyrehave to the south.
The Gribskov Line or the Gribskov Railway is a local passenger railway line in North Zealand north of Copenhagen, Denmark.
North Zealand, also North Sealand, refers to the northern part of the island of Zealand in Denmark proper that is not clearly defined but generally covers the area north of Copenhagen.
