Henry Young Shepherd MBE (1857-1947 [1] [2] ) was the Dean of Antigua from 1906 [3] until 1930. [4]

St. John's Cathedral also known as the St. John the Divine, the Cathedral Church of the Diocese of North Eastern Caribbean and Aruba, is an Anglican church perched on a hilltop in St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda. It is the seat of the Diocese of the North East Caribbean and Aruba in the Church in the Province of the West Indies.

Shepherd was educated at Codrington College and ordained in 1882. His first post was a curacy at St George, Antigua after which he served his whole career at the Cathedral: [5] first as Rector; then Vicar general and finally Dean.

It is the oldest Anglican theological college in the Western Hemisphere. It was originally instituted as an independent external college of the University of Durham.

Antigua, also known as Waladli or Wadadli by the native population, is an island in the West Indies. It is one of the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean region and the main island of the country of Antigua and Barbuda. Antigua and Barbuda became an independent state within the Commonwealth of Nations on 1 November 1981.
