Here, Hear. is an EP by La Dispute, released on May 15, 2008 through Forest Life Records. The extended play contains a series of spoken-word tracks that focus on combining pieces of pre-existing poetry and writings with a variety of instrumentation. [4]

Release

Released originally as a 7" Vinyl with 300 copies distributed in only one colour permuatation: white. [5] It also accompanied the first 100 sales of the Untitled 7". [6]

With the release of the third EP in the series on December 24, 2009, the first three volumes became available for download off Bandcamp; all proceeds will benefit well House Community Living of Grand Rapids, a non-profit outreach program in Grand Rapids that provides emergency shelter and permanent housing for homeless families. When the period of donation ended on January 17, 2010, La Dispute was able to raise $1715.44 for Well House. All subsequent donations go towards covering recording expenses of the band. [1]

Lyrical Themes

Hear, Hear. uses poetry and writings from various artists: One is based upon Tom Robbins' Still Life with Woodpecker . [2] [3] Two is lyrics from the poem "somewhere i have never traveled" by E. E. Cummings. [2] Three is based upon Edgar Allan Poe's poem "Annabel Lee". [2] [3] While Four is based upon an Asian myth, and the lyrics are amalgamations of different versions on the story. [2] This story is the ground work for the lyrical theme of their debut album Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair. [3]

Here, Hear II. is a 7" EP by La Dispute and the second instalment in the Here, Hear series, it was released on November 11, 2008 along with their debut full length, Somewhere At the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair through No Sleep Records. The EP was limited to 300 copies, and in 3 different cover variations with 100 copies per cover variant. Like the first release in the series, the EP features spoken-word track reciting pre-existing literature written by other authors. Five consists of an amalgamation of three different poems by Charles Bukowski, Six has lyrics taken from The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus, Seven features the first chapter from the children's novel The Wind in the Willows, and Eight has its lyrics taken from the afterword of the graphic novel series Midnight Nation by J. Michael Straczynski

The album's title is derived from an Asian folktale, which the album's lyrics loosely follow. The album was well received reviews by notable critics and maintains a legacy in the post-hardcore scene.

The Jane Austen Argument

The Jane Austen Argument is an Australian musical duo from Melbourne, Victoria. The Narrative American indie rock band

The Narrative is an American independent indie rock band from Long Island, New York, formed in 2008. They are currently based at Nashville, Tennessee. Since 2011, the band has consisted of Suzie Zeldin and Jesse Gabriel. Previously, the group has featured the drummer Charlie Seich. The group started its musical career with their debut EP Just Say Yes released in 2008, where "Eyes Closed" stands out as the most popular song with more than four million views on YouTube. Its debut album The Narrative was released in 2010. As well the group release two supporting tour-EP, Nothing Without You in 2010 and Kickstarter in 2011. A follow-up EP b-side compilation album, B-Sides and Seasides was released online in 2012. The Narrative released its second studio album Golden Silence on December 2, 2016.

Returning We Hear the Larks

Returning We Hear the Larks is the progressive metal solo project of Jack Noble, a student from Bristol, UK. The name is taken from the poem by war poet Isaac Rosenberg.

A Hill to Die Upon

A Hill To Die Upon is an American blackened death metal band from the Monmouth-Galesburg area of Illinois, formed in 2004 by the brothers Adam and R. Michael Cook. The brothers initially founded the band as hardcore project, but eventually started listening to death and black metal, which led them to transform their band's sound. Over the years, various musicians have filled out the band's lineup, which currently consists of the Cook brothers and Nolan Osmond. Signed to Bombworks Records, A Hill to Die Upon has released four albums – Infinite Titanic Immortal in 2009, Omens in 2011, Holy Despair in 2014, and Via Artis, Via Mortis in 2017 - all to a positive critical reception. In 2013, the band also released a stand-alone single, "Manden med Leen". Musically, the band is compared primarily to Behemoth as well as Immortal, Naglfar, and Old Man's Child, all of which the brothers cite as among their major influences. The brothers are Christian, but they distance themselves from calling A Hill to Die Upon a Christian metal band. Lyrical themes include mythology, war, philosophy, and despair, with references drawn from the Bible and numerous literary works and authors.

4-Track Guitar Music is the sixth overall and first internet EP by John Frusciante, released on November 24, 2015 onto his Bandcamp and his Soundcloud. 4-Track Guitar Music was also released the same day and year as Renoise Tracks 2009-2011, his first internet album since 2001's From the Sounds Inside.

<i>VOYAGE-19</i> 2020 EP by Bilal and HighBreedMusic

VOYAGE-19 is an EP by the American singer-songwriter Bilal, in collaboration with HighBreedMusic, a music studio and production company in Brooklyn, New York. It was released digitally on September 6, 2020, through the music publishing platform Bandcamp and is his first EP, as well as his first album-type release since 2015's In Another Life.
