Heritage Regional High School (HRHS) is a public secondary school located in Longueuil, Quebec, Canada. It was formed in the 2003 merger of Macdonald-Cartier High School of Saint-Hubert, Quebec, with Richelieu Valley Regional High School of McMasterville, Quebec.

As of 2024, Heritage Regional High School serves 1761 students. [2]

HRHS offers curricular focus programs in general studies, International Baccalaureate, fine arts, computer applications and networking, sports excellence, and an alternative work-study program. [3]

History

Macdonald-Cartier High School, an English-language school named in honor of two Fathers of Confederation, Georges-Étienne Cartier and John A. Macdonald, opened in September 1968 in St. Hubert, with space for 3000 students. [4]

The French Mouvement pour l'Intégration Scolaire opened the Richelieu Valley Regional High School in McMasterville in 1969 to accommodate French-language students. [4] [5]

The two schools merged in 2003, becoming Heritage Regional High School. [6] [7]

Laurier Macdonald High School, abbreviated traditionally as "LMAC" but occasionally as "LMHS," is an English-language public school in the east end of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The school is named for John A. Macdonald, the first Prime Minister of Canada and a Father of Confederation and Wilfrid Laurier, the first French-Canadian Prime Minister of Canada. Formerly part of La Commission Scolaire Jérôme-Le Royer, the school has been part of the English Montreal School Board since 1998. Both its male and female sports teams compete as the Rams. Enrollment is slightly over 800 students in Secondary I, II, III, IV and V.

The Riverside School Board is an English-language school board in the province of Quebec and provides educational services and programs to all students who have a certificate of eligibility for English education in Quebec. They are responsible for anglophone public schools on South Shore (Montreal). Riverside consistently places among the top five and has one of the lowest dropout rates of the 72 public school boards in Quebec, both English and French. It is the birthplace of the French immersion program and offers the International Baccalaureate program in many of their elementary and high Schools.

The Montreal and Southern Counties Railway Company was an electric interurban streetcar line that served communities between Montreal and Granby from 1909 until 1956. A second branch served the city of Longueuil. Operated by the Canadian National Railway (CN), the M&SCRC ran trams on tracks in the street in Montreal and closer South Shore communities, and on separate right of way in rural areas.

The de la Vallée du Richelieu sector, is a public transit agency serving eight member municipalities and the Richelieu Valley RCM in Quebec, Canada. These towns, located east Montreal along Quebec Route 116, receive both local service and commuter runs to Exo stations that serve Montreal. The communities served are: Beloeil, McMasterville, Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Otterburn Park, Saint-Basile-le-Grand, Saint-Hyacinthe, Sainte-Madeleine, Sainte-Marie-Madeleine. Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville was formerly a ninth CITVR member municipality, but despite leaving the system, it continues to benefit from the service.

The South Shore Protestant Regional School Board (SSPRSB) was a Protestant Christian school district in Greater Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It served the South Shore region and it was headquartered in St. Lambert.
