Hi Honey was recorded at a small space owned by Daptone Records [2] and produced by Thomas Brenneck, who is known for his work with Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings. [3]

Dave Tomar wrote in the Huffington Post that Hi Honey "brims with something more than just the wounded abandon that distinguished previous recordings" and said that it "borrows furiously and confidently from history to deliver an immediate blast of booty-shaking brilliance." [6] Stephen Thomas Erlewine, of AllMusic, awarded the album four out of five stars and said that "the nifty thing about Hi Honey is how it's cleverly produced to replicate the kinetic sensation of hearing a stack of 45s being spun through an old jukebox." [5] Eric Schuman, writing for Magnet , named the album "essential new music" in May 2015 and said that it was "both retro-minded and forward-thinking." [9]

Low Cut Connie is an American rock and roll band based in Philadelphia, United States. Low Cut Connie has become the alter ego for frontman, pianist, and songwriter Adam Weiner, who has been the band's only constant member since its formation. Beginning as an impromptu recording session in 2010, Low Cut Connie gradually evolved into a vehicle for Weiner's songwriting and his distinctive onstage persona. The band has earned praise for its high-energy live performances, which Los Angeles Weekly described as "unmatched in all of rock right now." Produced by Mark Lambert and Leon Russell, the album was released on September 22, 2017, Leon's 38th album on Palmetto Records. On a Distant Shore is Leon's last album, as his death was on November 2016 at age 74. The album was recorded at ThirtySeventeen studio in Nashville Tennessee in 2016. Leon Russell's daughter, Coco Bridges, performs backing vocals on the album and also did the album cover painting. Leon Russell's daughter, Sugaree Noel Bridges, performs backing vocals on the album. Russell reinterpreted “This Masquerade,” ″Hummingbird” and “A Song for You” three of his best-known songs, he also added an orchestral arrangements by Larry Hall.
