The Wombats are an English indie rock band formed in Liverpool in 2003. Since its inception, the band's line-up has consisted of Matthew Murphy, Tord Øverland Knudsen, and Dan Haggis. The band is signed to 14th Floor Records and Bright Antenna. They have sold over 1 million albums worldwide.
Twin Atlantic are a Scottish alternative rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. The group currently consists of Sam McTrusty and Ross McNae (bass). Lead guitarist Barry McKenna departed from the band in 2019, but continues to perform with the band at their live shows. Craig Kneale (drums) "decided to step back" from the band in September 2021, just a day after the release of their song "One Man Party" from their most recent album Transparency. They have released six albums: Vivarium, Free, Great Divide, GLA, Power, and Transparency. Their highest charting single is "Heart and Soul" from Great Divide, which peaked at number 17 on the UK Singles Chart. On 2 June 2016, Annie Mac premiered "No Sleep" as the Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1 and announced their album GLA, subsequently released on 9 September 2016.
"Invaders Must Die" is the eighteenth single released by the British electronic band the Prodigy. It was released from the band's website as a free digital download on 26 November 2008. It was the first single from the album Invaders Must Die. The download was announced on 24 November, in a newsletter sent to fans, and first aired on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show as his 'Hottest Record in the World' on 26 November. The song was co-produced by Does It Offend You, Yeah?'s James Rushent. Liam Howlett described this to the Dubai edition of Time Out as: "a very abrasive-sounding electronic track, kind of different to anything we've done before." Although not being a commercial single the track charted at 49 in the UK Singles Chart on 1 March 2009, whilst the Chase & Status remix reached 53 in the Australian Aria Singles Chart and 7 in the Aria Dance Chart. On 30 November 2009 the re-amped version by Liam was released as an EP with the B-side Mescaline, and Thunder remixes.
"It's Not the End of the World, But I Can See It from Here" is the twelfth single by Welsh rock band Lostprophets, and the first from their fourth studio album The Betrayed. It was released on 11 October 2009 in the UK, the first time they had released anything since April 2007. The release also features the song "AC Ricochet". Drummer Ilan Rubin wrote the song when he was 16.
Young Guns are an English alternative rock band from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The members, working with each other in various musical interests throughout the 2000s, formally formed the band in 2008, and rose to prominence after their debut EP, Mirrors, earned them spots opening live shows for Bon Jovi and Guns N' Roses. Their debut album, All Our Kings Are Dead, on 12 July 2010. Their second album, Bones, was released in February 2012. The band's fourth album, Echoes, was released on September 16, 2016.

It was originally planned to be the first single released from the band's third studio album A Flash Flood of Colour. However, Rou Reynolds later confirmed that it would not feature, and instead will be a stand-alone single much like the previous single "Destabilise". The song was first played live at the SXSW Festival on 18 March 2011 in Austin, Texas. The track's debut airing was on 19 May 2011 Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show, he chose the track for the "Hottest Record In the World" spot.

"Stay Awake" is a song by British musician Example from his third studio album, Playing in the Shadows. The song was written by Example and produced by British electronic music trio Nero. It was released on 28 August 2011 as the album's second single and was added to the BBC Radio 1 playlist. The song premiered on BBC Radio 1 as Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record in the World' on 4 July 2011. On 4 September 2011, the single debuted on the UK Singles Chart at number one.

Weapons is the fifth and final studio album by the Welsh alternative rock band Lostprophets. It was released through Epic Records on 2 April 2012. It was the first and only record featuring Luke Johnson on drums, after being with two other drummers previously, Mike Chiplin and Ilan Rubin. This was the last album to be released by the band before lead vocalist Ian Watkins was convicted of numerous sex offences, which led to their disbandment.
The Blackout were a post-hardcore band from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, formed in 2003. They released their EP The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout! In October 2007 the band released their debut album, We Are the Dynamite. Their second record, The Best in Town, was released on 25 May 2009 in Europe and 23 June 2009 in the US, both via Epitaph Records. The band's third album - titled Hope, was released on 4 April 2011, and charted at number 27 in the UK album chart. Their fourth studio album, titled Start the Party, was released on 21 January 2013. The Blackout's final release was a five track EP entitled Wolves, with their farewell tour held in early 2015, finishing in their hometown of Merthyr Tydfil on Saturday 28 March 2015.
"Level Up'" is a song by English musician Sway, featuring uncredited vocals from the singer Kelsey McHugh. The track was first released in the United Kingdom through All Around the World on 8 April 2012 as the second single from Sway's third studio album, The Deliverance, although it was not ultimately included on the album. On November 23, 2013, the band performed the song on Saturday Night Live. The song impacted radio on October 14, 2014.
"Handsome" is a song from English indie rock band the Vaccines. The track was released in the United Kingdom on 8 March 2015 as the lead single from the band's third studio album, English Graffiti (2015). The track received its premiere on BBC Radio 1 when it featured as Zane Lowe's Hottest Record in the World on 19 January. "Handsome" was written by Young, Cowan, Árnason and Robertson and produced by the band alongside David Fridmann and Cole MGN.
