The Hip Hop Show is Australian radio station Triple J's programme dedicated to hip-hop music, broadcast every Tuesday night. It features new releases and interviews with up-and-coming talent. In 2025, it will be hosted by Sydney rapper A.Girl; prior to this, the show was anchored by several artists in residence after long-time presenter Hau Latukefu retired after 14 years at the helm.

In the early 2000s, Triple J used to issue annual compilation CDs featuring some of the best hip-hop music from the show. [1] The programme has also been rebroadcast on Radio Australia since 2010.[ citation needed ]

On 13 December 2023, ABC ombudsman Fiona Cameron found that the 24 November 2023 edition of the Hip Hop Show breached the ABC's standards for due impartiality and for the responsible management of controversial programme material after guest presenter Miss Kaninna delivered pro-Palestine comments during the show, prompting complaints. Triple J is a government-funded, national Australian radio station founded in 1975 as a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). It aims to appeal to young listeners of alternative music, and plays more Australian content than commercial networks.

Australian hip hop traces its origins to the early 1980s and was initially largely inspired by hip hop and other urban musical genres from the United States. As the form matured, Australian hip hop has become a commercially viable style of music that is no longer restricted to the creative underground, with artists such as Onefour, Hilltop Hoods, Kerser and Bliss n Eso and having achieved notable fame. Richard Kingsmill is an Australian radio announcer and music journalist. He worked for ABC radio station triple j from 1988 until his redundancy in December 2023, and was the station's longest-serving presenter. From 2017 he was group music director of triple j, triple j Unearthed, Double J, ABC Country, and ABC Local Radio.

Double J is an Australian digital radio station owned by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. A sister station of the youth-oriented Triple J, it was founded in 2002 as Dig Music and aims to appeal to an older audience with a more refined music catalogue. The station is mostly automated but has a few regular live programs, and also hosts archive content from the parent station's library. It is available to stream online or via the DAB+ network in Australia.

Bliss n Eso are an Australian hip hop trio based in Sydney. The group consists of emcees Bliss and Eso, and DJ Izm, and they are currently signed to Melbourne record label Illusive Sounds, and are managed and booked by label co-founders Adam Jankie and Matt Gudinski. Bliss n Eso have released seven studio albums which include three number 1 debuts on the ARIA Charts. They have also won two ARIA Awards for Best Urban Release for their 2008 album Flying Colours and for Best Music Video for their 2017 single "Moments". Eso, under his alias Esoterik, released an album entitled "My Astral Plane" in May 2018.
