The Ho Chi Minh City Wings are a Vietnamese professional basketball team based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. They play in the Vietnam Basketball Association. [1]
During the offseason after their inaugural seam, the Wings announced that Finnish head coach Mika Turunen would not return for their sophomore season and named former Vietnam national basketball team head coach Rick Magallanes as his replacement. [2]

Ho Chi Minh City, commonly known as Saigon, is the most populous city in Vietnam, with a population of around 9.3 million in 2023. The city's geography is defined by rivers and canals, of which the eponymously-named Saigon River is the largest. As a municipality, Ho Chi Minh City consists of 16 urban districts, five rural districts, and one municipal city (sub-city). As the largest financial centre in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City has the highest gross regional domestic product out of all Vietnam provinces and municipalities, contributing around a quarter of the country's total GDP. Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport is an international airport serving Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city of Vietnam. It serves Tan Binh District, where the airport is located in the Ho Chi Minh City metropolitan area, as well as the rest of southeastern Vietnam. It is the busiest and largest airport in Vietnam, with 32.5 million passengers in 2016, 38.5 million passengers in 2018, and about 41 million passengers in 2023. As of December 2023, it is the 50th-busiest airport in the world, and the second-busiest in Southeast Asia. As of April 2024, it has a total capacity of only around 30 million passengers, which has caused constant and increasing traffic and congestion, hence it has sparked debates for expanding or building a new airport, of which the plan of the new airport as an alternative is under construction since 2021, and will be completed by 2025.

Since the 2014 season, the Heat's home games are played at the CIS Arena on the campus of the Canadian International School in District 7. This is the first professional basketball team based in Vietnam.

Following the relegation from 2022 season and problems related to the club's ownership, it was proposed that team would be dissolved. The regular season began on 15 October 2020 and ended on 20 November. The playoffs semi-finals began on 24 November 2020 and ended on 28 November 2020. The Finals began on 2 December 2020 and ended on 8 December 2020 with the Saigon Heat defeating the Thang Long Warriors after 4 games.
