The Ho Chi Minh City Wings are a Vietnamese professional basketball team based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. They play in the Vietnam Basketball Association. [1]

History

During the offseason after their inaugural seam, the Wings announced that Finnish head coach Mika Turunen would not return for their sophomore season and named former Vietnam national basketball team head coach Rick Magallanes as his replacement. [2]

The 2019 VBA season was the fourth season of the Vietnam Basketball Association. The regular season began on 1 June 2019 and ended on 18 August 2019. The playoffs began on 24 August 2019 and ended on 31 August 2019. The finals began on 7 September 2019 and ended on 17 September 2019 with the Saigon Heat beating the Cantho Catfish in 5 games.

The 2020 VBA season was the fifth season of the Vietnam Basketball Association. The season was scheduled to start in May but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The regular season began on 15 October 2020 and ended on 20 November. The playoffs semi-finals began on 24 November 2020 and ended on 28 November 2020. The Finals began on 2 December 2020 and ended on 8 December 2020 with the Saigon Heat defeating the Thang Long Warriors after 4 games.

The 2021 V.League 1 was the 65th professional season of the top-flight football league in Vietnam.

Võ Văn Thưởng is a Vietnamese politician who served as the 12th President of Vietnam from March 2023 to March 2024, being the youngest person to serve in this position since the country's reunification at the age of 52. Jaylin Michael Williams, nicknamed J-Will, is an American professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was selected by the Thunder in the second round of the 2022 NBA draft.
