Hogarth was established in London in 2008. [3] In 2009 the company formed a joint venture with WPP plc. [4] Richard Glasson – who joined the company in 2011 as chief operating officer – is the global CEO as of March 2023. [5]

Hogarth's business grew as more and more businesses started separating their advertising creative development from production. [6] Hogarth also manages and provides the production technology for in-house studio facilities at advertising agencies and client marketing organisations.

Some of the biggest clients Hogarth works for include Heinz [7] Galderma, Nestle, Ford, Johnson & Johnson, Volvo.[ citation needed ]

Hogarth has featured in the Televisual poll of top post-production houses. [8]

As of January 2024, the company employs 7,500 staff globally, the largest in-house production arm of any agency. [9]

Offices

In 2010 the company opened an office in New York. In 2011 offices were opened in Hong Kong, Singapore, [10] and Mexico. An office in Bucharest was opened in 2012. An offshore production platform for Hogarth was established in the year 2018 in Chennai, India.

The company was acquired in 1987 by multinational holding company WPP plc, and in November 2018, WPP merged J. Walter Thompson with fellow agency Wunderman to form Wunderman Thompson. In October 2023, WPP announced yet another merger in which Wunderman Thompson, along with another group agency VMLY&R, would cease to exist and create a new combined entity named VML.
