Hollin Pierce is an American college football offensive tackle for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Pierce attended Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, Virginia. Coming out of high school, he was unranked, and he committed to play college football for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, joining the team as a walk-on. [1] [2]
In his first three seasons from 2020 to 2022, Pierce played in 26 games with 24 starts for the Scarlet Knights, becoming a full-time starter in 2021. He was also a Burlsworth Trophy nominee in 2022. [3] [4] [5] [6] [ excessive citations ] During the 2023 season, Pierce switched to left tackle, where he started all 13 games at left tackle for the Scarlet Knights and was named honorable mention all-Big Ten Conference. [7] Ahead of the 2024 season, he was named the 98th best college football player by On3.com. [8] Pierce was once again nominated for the Burlsworth Award in 2024. [9]
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights football program represents Rutgers University in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). Rutgers competes as a member of the Big Ten Conference. Prior to joining the Big Ten, the Scarlet Knights were a member of the American Athletic Conference from 1991 to 2013. Rutgers plays its home games at SHI Stadium, in Piscataway, New Jersey. The team is currently led by head coach Greg Schiano. The Scarlet Knights football team is also notable for playing in the first collegiate football game in 1869, in which the Scarlet Knights won 6–4.

The 1961 Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team was an American football team that represented Rutgers University as a member of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) during the 1961 college football season. In their second season under head coach John F. Bateman, the Scarlet Knights compiled a perfect 9–0 record, won the MAC University Division championship, and outscored opponents by a total of 246 to 102. It was Rutgers' first undefeated season, 92 years after winning the first ever intercollegiate football game in 1869. The team ranked fifteenth in the final Associated Press writers poll.
