The Honda NSF250R [1] is a four-stroke race motorcycle from HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) developed in 2011 to replace the outgoing two-stroke Honda RS125R. Honda's NSF250R joined the newly-created Moto3 World Championship in 2012. An updated model, the NSF250RW was introduced in 2014, and won the constructors' title for the first time in 2015. The motorcycle is one of the most successful machines of the Moto3 era to date, having taken 5 constructors' championships and propelled 5 different riders' championships.

Mahindra later refocused on being a bike and engine supplier, until ultimately pulling out of the sport in 2017.

The 2011 Valencian Community motorcycle Grand Prix was the last round of the 2011 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 4–6 November 2011 at the Circuito Ricardo Tormo. It was the first race after the death of Marco Simoncelli in Sepang. It was the final race for the current formula in the premier (MotoGP) and lightweight classes. In the premier class, the 800cc engines would be replaced by 1000cc engines. Honda also would change motorcycles at the end of the season, as the Honda RC212V that débuted at the 2007 Qatar Grand Prix would be replaced by the RC213V for the following season. In the lightweight class, the 125cc two-stroke motorcycle formula would be replaced by 250cc four-strokes for 2012. This was also the final race for Suzuki as a factory team until their return in 2015.

The Honda RC213V is a Japanese motorcycle developed for road racing by Honda Racing Corporation to compete in the MotoGP series from the 2012 season and onwards. Rules for 2012 allowed motorcycles up to 1,000 cc (61 cu in) in capacity, with a limit of 4 cylinders and a maximum 81mm cylinder bore.

Kenta Fujii is a Japanese Grand Prix motorcycle racer. He currently competes in the All Japan Road Race J-GP3 Championship aboard a Honda NSF250R. He has previously competed in the MFJ All Japan Road Race GPMono Championship, the MFJ All Japan Road Race GP125 Championship, the MFJ All Japan Road Race J-GP3 Championship and the Spanish CEV Moto3 Championship. Fujii won the GPMono title in 2010, and the J-GP3 title in 2011.

With sponsors becoming more important with the rising costs in the motorcycle CC classes, many teams wanted to be able to display the logos of their sponsors as clearly as possible.
