Dale Edward Kildee was an American politician who served as U.S. Representative of Michigan from 1977 to 2013. He was a member of the Democratic Party.

Hansen Hashim Clarke is an American politician and former U.S. Congressman. A Democrat, he was the U.S. representative for Michigan's 13th congressional district from 2011 to 2013. Prior to his election to Congress, he had been a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from 1991 through 1992 and from 1999 through 2002, and represented the 1st district in the Michigan Senate from 2003 to 2011. Clarke was also the first U.S. Congressman of Bangladeshi descent.
Martha G. Scott is an American politician serving as a member of the Wayne County Commission. She previously served as a Democratic member of the Michigan State Senate from 2001 through 2010, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from 1994 through 2001. Her senate district included the northeast section of Detroit and the cities of Hamtramck, Highland Park, Harper Woods, and the five Grosse Pointes. She was term limited at the 2010 elections, and ran for the office of Wayne County Commissioner. She won election has since been reelected several times to the Wayne County Commission.

The elections coincided with the elections of other federal and state offices, including the election of Michigan's governor, as well as the Class 2 U.S. Senate Seat.

Fred Durhal III is an American politician who currently serves as a member of the Detroit City Council. Durhal served as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives for the 5th District from 2015 to 2019. Durhal succeeded his father, Fred Durhal, Jr., in the House.
Jeremy Allen Moss is an American politician from Southfield, Michigan currently representing the 7th State Senate District, which includes all of Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Lake Angelus, Lathrup Village, Pontiac, Southfield, and parts of Detroit, Southfield Township, and Waterford Township. A member of the Democratic Party, he is the first openly LGBT person elected to the Michigan Senate, as well as the first to serve as President Pro Tempore. He is the first openly gay man and second openly LGBT person to serve in a statewide office in Michigan. Moss previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2014 - 2018, and remains the youngest-ever member of the Southfield City Council.
The Michigan's 4th senate district special election, 2016 was held on November 8, 2016. The election coincided with the 2016 U.S. presidential election, as well as other elections to the House of Representatives, elections to the United States Senate and various state and local elections. The deadline for candidates to file for the August 2 primary election is April 19.
The Michigan Senate elections of 2018 took place on November 6, 2018, alongside elections to be Michigan's governor, Class I United States Senator, Attorney General, Secretary of State as well elections for Michigan's 14 seats in the United States House of Representatives and all 110 seats in the Michigan House of Representatives; to elect the 38 members that will comprise the Michigan Senate. The Republican, Democratic and Libertarian parties chose their nominees in a partisan primary on August 7, 2018. The Working Class Party, U.S. Taxpayers Party, Green Party and Natural Law Party chose their nominees at state party conventions.
Matt Koleszar is an American politician serving as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from the 22nd district. He was first elected in November 2018, defeating incumbent Republican Jeff Noble, and was re-elected in 2020. Due to decennial re-districting, in 2022 Koleszar ran for the 22nd district, which includes Plymouth City and parts of Livonia City, Northville City, Plymouth Township, and Northville Township; he was elected as the first representative for the new district.
David Mayes Middleton II is an American businessman and politician serving as a member of the Texas Senate for the 11th district. Previously, he served as a Texas House of Representatives for District 23. A member of the Republican Party, Middleton has been in the Texas legislature since January 8, 2019.
