House Rent Party is an album by the American blues pianist/vocalist Sunnyland Slim, compiling six recordings originally issued by Apollo Records with additional unreleased tracks from 1949 with Jimmy Rogers and St. Louis Jimmy and two tracks performed by Willie Mabon, that was released by the Delmark label in 1992. Allmusic reviewer Scott Yanow stated "From deep in the vaults of Apollo Records comes this sensational collection of 1949 artifacts by the veteran pianist, along with sides by singer St. Louis Jimmy, young pianist Willie Mabon, and two unissued sides by guitarist Jimmy Rogers ... all from the emerging heyday of the genre.". Delmark Records is the oldest American jazz and blues independent record label. It was founded in 1958 and is based in Chicago, Illinois. The label originated in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1953 when owner Bob Koester released a recording of the Windy City Six, a traditional jazz group, under the Delmar imprint.

Lacy Gibson was an American Chicago blues guitarist, singer and songwriter. He notably recorded the songs "My Love Is Real" and "Switchy Titchy" and in a long and varied career worked with Buddy Guy and Son Seals.

He wrote a number of popular tracks including his own instrumental, "Midnight Shuffle".

Warren George Harding Lee, known professionally as Lee Jackson, was an American Chicago blues guitarist, bass guitarist, singer and songwriter. Although he did release a number of recordings in his own name, such as Lonely Girl (1974), he is most known for his work on recordings with other blues musicians such as Johnny Shines, Willie Dixon, Jimmy Reed, J. B. Hutto, Sunnyland Slim, Lacy Gibson, and Little Walter. AllMusic noted that "the playing style of Jackson is vastly influential".

"Fishin' in My Pond" was a song written by Willie Dixon in 1956. The song was recorded by the Chicago blues musician Lee Jackson in Chicago, Illinois, United States, that same year, and issued as a single on Cobra Records in February 1957.
