The Hull Seahawks are an ice hockey team based in Kingston upon Hull and their home ice is the Hull Arena. They compete in the NIHL National Division.
The Hull Pirates were formed when the Hull Stingrays went into liquidation in June 2015. The Stingrays' place in the Elite Ice Hockey League was taken by Manchester Storm.
On Friday 3 July 2015, Shane Smith, a 43-year-old Rotherham-based businessman, held a press day at the Hull Arena to announce the formation of the Hull Pirates and that they had been accepted into the EPIHL. [1]
It was also announced that former Hull Stingrays' forward Dominic Osman would become a player-coach and part-owner of Hull Pirates. [2]
A fans' forum was held on 15 July 2015 with the unveiling of the club's logo. The Pirates had six weeks to put together a team in time for the upcoming league campaign.
In their first season as a club, Hull Pirates achieved a 9th-place finish in the EPIHL.
For the 2016–17 season, the Pirates announced the re-signings of forwards Nathan Salem [3] and Lee Bonner [4] as well as Jamie Chilcott [5] and Jonathan Kirk, [6] who both play in defence. Goalie Ashley Smith [7] became the club's latest signing on 20 March 2016.
Following the culmination of the 2016–17 season and the collapse of the EPIHL, the Hull Pirates were left with no choice and announced their intention to join the National Ice Hockey League. [8]
The team did not playing in the 2021–22 season as their rink was not available in time for the start of the season. [9]
Ahead of the 2022–23 season, it was announced that due diligence of a new ownership group (IMJ Group) had been completed [10] and the Hull Seahawks would be competing in the NIHL National Division in place of the Pirates. [11] IMJ consists of Ian Mowfirth, Joe Lamplough and former Pirates, Stingrays and Kingston forward Matty Davies. [12] Davies will also take up the roles of General Manager and Player-Coach. [13]

Manchester Phoenix was a semi professional ice hockey team from Greater Manchester, England. The club was formed in 2003 as a result of the efforts of supporters group Friends of Manchester Ice Hockey to bring top-level ice hockey back to Manchester after Manchester Storm folded in 2002.
The Basingstoke Bison are an English Ice Hockey club from Basingstoke. They currently compete in the NIHL National League and have previously been members of the Ice Hockey Superleague and its successor the Elite Ice Hockey League. Unfortunately due to arena refurbishment/renovation the team is unable to compete in the upcoming 2023/24 Season
The Edinburgh Capitals are a Scottish ice hockey club, playing in the Scottish National League (SNL). They are based in the Scottish capital, Edinburgh. The team play at the Murrayfield Ice Rink, close to Murrayfield Rugby stadium.
The Milton Keynes Lightning are an ice hockey team founded in 2002 and then again in 2019 in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. The Lightning currently play in Britain's second-tier professional league, the National Ice Hockey League (NIHL), since the 2019–20 season. Humberside Seahawks later known as Humberside Hawks and then Kingston Hawks, were an English ice hockey club from Kingston upon Hull. Founded in 1988, the club played their home games at Hull Arena. The club went through several name changes due to council influence before dissolving in 1999. Since that time, the club was followed first by Hull Thunder from 1999 until 2002, the Hull Stingrays from 2003 until 2015 and the Hull Pirates since 2015.
Paul Dixon is a former ice hockey defenceman and player-coach from Sunderland, England. He is currently the head coach for the Guildford Flames of the Elite Ice Hockey League, the top-tier of hockey in the United Kingdom.

Peter Russell is a British ice hockey coach and former goaltender. He is currently the head coach of both the Cardiff Devils in the UK's EIHL and the Great Britain men's national ice hockey team. He is the most successful coach in GB history at both senior and junior level, with 11 medals including six gold medals.
