The Hungarian Open was a professional men's tennis tournament played on outdoor red clay courts. It was part of the ATP Tour 250 series of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour. It was held annually in April in Budapest, Hungary. [1] This is the first ATP event hosted in Hungary and it run by the Hungarian Tennis Association. [2] 2017 was the inaugural edition and 2019 was the last edition. Matteo Berrettini was the event's last singles champion. The tournament was replaced by the Serbia Open scheduled to return to the calendar in April 2021.

The Miami Open is an annual professional tennis tournament held in Miami Gardens, Florida, United States. It is played on outdoor hard courts at the Hard Rock Stadium, and is held in late March and early April. The tournament is part of the ATP Masters 1000 events on the ATP Tour and part of the WTA 1000 events on the WTA Tour.
The Romanian Open is a professional men's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the successor event to the earlier Romanian International Championships (1930–1983). It is part of the ATP 250 tournaments of the ATP Tour. It was held annually in Bucharest, Romania, between 1993 and 2016 and revived in 2024. Its name is taken from Romania's famous tennis players Ilie Năstase and Ion Țiriac.

The Serbia Open was a professional tennis tournament, part of the ATP 250 series and the ATP Tour. Held in Belgrade, Serbia and played on outdoor clay courts, the event was held for the first time in 2009. It was the first for Serbia, as the country had never before hosted an Association of Tennis Professionals tournament. The tournament was held as a combined men's and women's event in 2021. This marked the first time in history a WTA tournament was held in Serbia. The last edition was played in 2022, after which the tournament moved for a one-year period to Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina and rebranded as Srpska Open.

The Malaysian Open was a combined men's and women's professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts that was originally founded the Malayan Championships. The event has been held at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort and The Royal Selangor Golf Club. The tournament ran from 1921 to 1978. It was revived for a second time from 1992 through to 1995. It was staged for the third and final time from 2009 to 2018.

It was the earlier one of the two simultaneous challengers played in Hungary with the event taking place usually in May. It was part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger Tour. It was held annually at the Római Teniszakadémia in Budapest, Hungary, from 1994 to 2005, when during the 2006 Hungarian floodings the courts were washed away and the event spot was replaced by the USTA LA Tennis Open. The most successful players were Hernán Gumy with two singles titles and Nuno Marques with three doubles titles.

The most successful player was Sergio Roitman with three doubles titles.

Marco Cecchinato is an Italian professional tennis player. He has a career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 16 reached on 25 February 2019. On 29 April 2018, he won his first ATP World Tour title at the 2018 Hungarian Open as a lucky loser, becoming the first Sicilian tennis player to win an ATP title. Cecchinato is a clay specialist and his best Grand Slam result is a semifinal at the 2018 French Open. At the other Grand Slams he has not won a match in singles.

The tournament replaced the Romanian Open on the ATP World Tour calendar.
