It is currently a WTA 125 event (since 2023) on the WTA Tour for women and part of the ATP Challenger Tour 125 (since 2022) for men. It is held annually in Parma, Italy since 2021. Since 2024 it is held in Sassuolo, Modena for men. [1]

The Palermo Ladies Open, is a women's tennis tournament in Palermo, Italy that is played on outdoor clay courts at the Country Time Club. The first two editions were part of the Satellite Circuit, but since 1990 it has been part of the WTA Tour. In the past it has also been known as the "Palermo International" and the "Internazionali Femminili di Palermo." The tournament was categorized as either a WTA Tier IV or Tier V event from 1990 to 2008 and became an International Tournament in 2009. In 2014, the license for the event was sold to Kuala Lumpur's Malaysian Open for 6 years. The sixth edition of the men's event was held between 17 and 22 June on the 2024 ATP Challenger Tour and the fourth edition for the women as part of the 2024 WTA 125 tournaments between 13 and 18 May.
