The Brasil Tennis Cup was a professional women's tennis tournament contested in various Brazilian cities. It was founded in 1977 as the WTA Brazil Open and was the successor event to the earlier Brazilian International Championships (1932-1969). From 1984 to 2002 it was branded as the WTA Brasil Open. The last edition was played on outdoor Hard courts in Florianópolis, Brazil in 2016. Before 2014 and in 2016, the tournament was held on hard courts. Until 2016, it was classified as a part of WTA International tournaments.
