The ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year is an annual award, established in 2021 by the International Cricket Council to the best Twenty20 International player over the year in question. It is one of the annual ICC Awards. [1] It has succeeded former Twenty20 International Performance of the Year Award, which was awarded to a player based on a single match performance.
The nominees were shortlisted by the Awards panel, comprising prominent cricket journalists and broadcasters from across the globe along with Geoff Allardice, the ICC's CEO.The Voting Academy, comprising a wider selection of global cricket journalists and broadcasters, voted for their first, second and third choices. The ICC also took into consideration fans’ votes via ICC's digital channels. The result of the Voting Academy selections and the fans’ vote were combined to determine the winner.

The ICC Awards is an International cricket award presented annually by the sport's governing body, ICC.
The Spanish national cricket team is the team that represents Spain in international cricket. They became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1992 and an associate member in 2017. They made their international debut in the ECC Trophy in 2001, finishing in 6th place. They played in the tournament again in 2001, this time finishing seventh. In the equivalent tournament in 2005, the European Affiliates Championship, they put in a much improved performance to finish third, just missing out on promotion to Division Two of the European Championship. They played in Division Three of that tournament in 2007 and again in 2009.
The Malaysian women's national cricket team is the team that represents the country of Malaysia in international women's cricket matches. The team made its debut against Singapore on 30 April 2006, winning by 58 runs. In August 2017, Malaysia won the bronze medal in the women's tournament at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.
Ahsan Raza is a Pakistani cricket umpire and former cricketer. In November 2020, in the second Twenty20 International (T20I) between Pakistan and Zimbabwe, he officiated in his 50th T20I match as an on-field umpire, becoming the first umpire to reach the milestone in T20I cricket.

Rashid Khan Arman is an Afghan international cricketer and captain of the Afghanistan national team in the T20I format. In franchise leagues, he plays for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Adelaide Strikers in Australia's Big Bash League (BBL), Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Band-e-Amir Dragons in Afghanistan's Shpageeza Cricket League and MI New York in Major League Cricket (MLC). He bowls right-arm leg spin and is an aggressive right-handed batsman.

Simranjit "Simi" Singh is an Indian born Irish cricketer. In December 2018, he was one of nineteen players to be awarded a central contract by Cricket Ireland for the 2019 season. In January 2020, he was one of nineteen players to be awarded a central contract from Cricket Ireland, the first year in which all contracts were awarded on a full-time basis.

The ICC Awards of the Decade is a one-off edition of the ICC Awards annual awards programme, aimed at celebrating the stand-out performers and moments from the past ten years of international cricket. An Awards Nominations Committee, comprising prominent cricket journalists and broadcasters from across the globe and the ICC General Manager – Cricket, have determined a shortlist of nominees for each category. For the first time the fans’ voice will be heard in selecting the winners across categories including the Sir Garfield Sobers and Rachael Heyhoe Flint Awards, which celebrate the best overall player from the men's and women's game over the past decade. The fan vote will make up 10% of the voting, while votes from an expert panel will make up the remaining 90%. The voting panel took into account players' performance between 1 January 2011 and 7 October 2020. The announcement of the ICC World XI Teams, along with the winners of the individual ICC awards, was made on 27 December, 2020. Virat Kohli won Men's Cricketer of the Decade while Ellyse Perry was named as Women's Cricket of the Decade.

The announcement of the ICC World XI Teams were made on 19 and 20 January 2022. The women's awards were announced on 23 January 2022. The winners of the men's individual ICC awards and ICC Umpire of the year award were announced on 24 January 2022, with the Spirit of cricket award was announced on 2 February 2022.
