World Cricket League series of international one-day cricket tournaments

The ICC World Cricket League is a series of international one-day cricket tournaments for national teams without Test status, administered by the International Cricket Council. All Associate Members of the ICC are eligible to compete in the league system, which features a promotion and relegation structure between divisions. The league system has two main aims: to provide a qualification system for the World Cup that can be accessed by all Associate Members, and as an opportunity for these sides to play international one-day matches against teams of similar standards.

The 2015 ICC World Cricket League Division Six was a limited-overs international cricket tournament that took place in England from 7 to 13 September 2015. The majority of matches were played at grounds in Essex, although two matches took place in Bishop's Stortford, in the neighbouring county of Hertfordshire.

Contents

The inaugural Division Six tournament was held in 2009, hosted by Singapore, and featured six teams. The next two tournaments (in 2011 and 2013) featured the same number, which was increased to eight for the 2015 tournament. Because the WCL operates on a system of promotion and relegation, teams have generally only participated in one or two Division Six tournaments before being either promoted to Division Five, relegated to Division Seven (2009 and 2011), or relegated to regional competitions (2013 and 2015). Overall, 15 teams have played in at least one Division Six tournament, with Guernsey featuring three times (more than any other team). Malaysia and Singapore, which began in Division Six in 2009, have since progressed to Division Three.

The 2009 ICC World Cricket League Division Six was a cricket tournament held from 29 August to 5 September 2009 in Singapore. The tournament was the second stage of the qualification structure for the 2015 World Cup as well as part of the wider ICC World Cricket League. The two leading teams of the tournament were promoted to Division Five in 2010.
