iDonate is an online fundraising platform for charities and non profit organisations in Ireland. It was launched in 2011, and available to charities, nonprofit organisations and crowdfunders in Ireland.

Formation and organisation

iDonate was formed in 2013 by Alan Coyne. [1] Coyne was then technical director with Western Webs in Tuam, County Galway, and later developed the iCrowdFund crowdfunding website and a micro-donations app. [2] [3] [4] [5]

iDonate is a private company, [6] and is a member of Fundraising Ireland, the association for professional fundraisers in Ireland. [7]

iDonate was a recipient of the SCCUL Entrepreneurship Social Enterprises Award in 2012, [8] was a regional finalist in the Ulster Bank Business Achievers Awards in 2013, [9] and was featured by Silicon Republic as "Tech Start-up of the Week" in July 2013. [10]

In 2019, iDonate's Charity Tax Back service introduced electronic signatures on CHY3/4 Charitable Donation Scheme forms. [11] [12] It launched an online raffle creator in 2020, [13] and a personal fundraising & crowdfunding service in 2022. [14]

FundRazr is a free crowdfunding and online fundraising platform released in 2009. FundRazr operates internationally in 35+ countries with the largest markets being United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia. It allows users to run a wide-range of crowdfunding campaigns by creating fundraising pages and sharing it via social media, messaging apps, email and more to raise money for over 100 types of causes such as nonprofit, medical care, education, community help, poverty alleviation, arts, memorials, and animal rescue causes. Tilt.com, Inc. was a crowdfunding company founded in 2012 that allowed for groups and communities to collect, fundraise, or pool money online. James Beshara and Khaled Hussein launched the platform under the name Crowdtilt out of Y Combinator.

Rally.org is an American social online fundraising platform for use by a wide range of individuals and organizations. It allows users to set up their own fundraising page, through which supporters can find information about their campaigns and make donations through Rally.org's proprietary payment system. The platform is best known for its use by causes including the Make A Wish Foundation and Jon Bon Jovi's Hurricane Sandy relief effort, filmmakers including the director of Buzkashi Boys, and political campaigns in the United States 2012 election cycle. In May 2012, Rally.org closed the largest Series A round of venture capital ever raised online. The company was founded in Austin, Texas, as Piryx, in 2009 by Tom Serres, Brian Upton, Jonas Lamis and Naveed Lalani.

Action Tuam was established as a non-profit organisation in 1990 to assist in creating employment in North County Galway, South County Mayo and County Roscommon. Action Tuam is registered in Ireland with the Companies Registration Office (CRO). The organisation offers advice and industrial unit rental to start-up SMEs and entrepreneurs with business ideas with the potential to create employment in the West of Ireland.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">BT MyDonate</span>

BT MyDonate was a not-for-profit online fundraising service provided by United Kingdom telecommunications company BT Group for charities in the UK, and was launched on 6 April 2011 as part of BT's investment to the community. It closed on 30 June 2019 so BT can focus its support in other areas including how they'll continue to support charities, and due to the many alternative fundraising platforms available, including several fee-free offers, to the UK.

Donorbox is a technology company headquartered in San Francisco, California. Established in 2014, the company provides an online fundraising platform enabling individuals and nonprofit organizations to facilitate online donations. The platform is utilized by various types of organizations, including charities, religious institutions, schools, animal welfare groups, political campaigns, among others.

GiveSendGo is a Christian crowdfunding website. GiveSendGo has attracted controversy for allowing far-right extremists to fundraise, including neo-Nazis, white supremacists and hate groups.
