I Love New York (season 1) is first season of the VH1 reality television series entitled I Love New York . The first season consisted of 12 episodes, which first aired weekly from January 8, 2007 to April 15, 2007.

Production

In July 2006, VH1 published a casting call [1] looking for contestants for their new series tentatively titled The Flavorette. Various blogs speculated that the star of this program could be Flavor of Love season one contestants "Rain" (Thela Brown), "Hoopz" (Nicole Alexander) or Pollard. [2] Before the second season finale of Flavor of Love, Pollard denied having her own show [3] but when the Flavor of Love season 2 finale aired, she confirmed she was the "Flavorette" and that she was already down to the final three contestants. [4]

On November 3, 2006, VH1 announced the show's official title: I Love New York. [5] The first commercial for the series aired on December 3, 2006 during the VH1 2006 Big Awards show. The show premiered on Monday, January 8, 2007 and is the most watched series debut in VH1 history. [6]

DVD release

The complete first season DVD was released October 2, 2007 for publicity for the second season. It contains all eleven episodes including the reunion special. [12] An Australian DVD was released on November 1, 2008. [13]

The contestants were not aware of Tequila's bisexuality until the end of the first episode, after ten contestants had been eliminated. The remaining contestants, both male and female, then shared the same home for the remainder of the series. A Shot at Love II premiered on April 22, 2008.

Rock of Love with Bret Michaels is an American reality television dating game show. It stars Bret Michaels, the lead singer from the band Poison. The show closely resembles the show Flavor of Love. The first season featured 25 women competing to be Michaels' girlfriend. Each week, the women face challenges, the winner of which gets to go on a date with Michaels. Some of the challenges were based on situations that they might encounter if chosen to be Michaels' girlfriend. The first season winner was 24-year-old Jes Rickleff from Naperville, Illinois. At the reunion, she revealed that she did not have romantic feelings for Michaels, and that she thought that he should have chosen the runner-up, Heather.

Real Chance of Love season 1 is the first season of the VH1 reality television dating series entitled Real Chance of Love. Brothers Ahmad Givens (Real) and Kamal Givens (Chance), former contestants on I Love New York, are the central figures. The show, which premiered October 20, 2008, features seventeen female contestants taking part in various challenges in a format similar to other VH1 and MTV dating contest programs. Each week, women are eliminated until the final episode where the brothers had to make their final selections. Ultimately, Ahmad selected "Corn Fed", while Kamal did not select a winner. The series consisted of 14 episodes.

Kamal Givens, also known as Chance, is an American rapper and television personality. On I Love New York, Givens appears with his brother Ahmad Givens,. Givens is also a former Capitol Records artist.

Real Chance of Love is an American reality television dating game show featuring two brothers, Ahmad "Real" Givens and Kamal "Chance" Givens, of the rap group The Stallionares, former contestants on I Love New York, who are looking for love. The show was first brought up in August 2007 when Mr. Boston of the first season of I Love New York was offered his own reality show. Boston declined and the plans eventually fell through, leaving the show to be picked up by Real and Chance.

Saaphyri Windsor is an American reality television contestant. Windsor is best known for appearing on Flavor of Love 2 and winning Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School. After the show, Windsor launched a unisex lip balm called Saaphyri's Lip Chap which stemmed from Saaphyri offering H-Town "lip chap" after their fight on Flavor of Love 2.

Michelle Rothschild-Patterson, also known as Sister Patterson, is known for her work in reality television and for being the mother of reality TV personality Tiffany "New York" Pollard, whom she has starred alongside on reality shows such as VH1's I Love New York and Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn.
