The Surreal Life is an American reality television series that records a group of celebrities as they live together in Glen Campbell's former mansion in the Hollywood Hills for two weeks. The format of the show resembles that of The Real World and Road Rules, in that the cameras not only record the castmates' participation in group activities assigned to them, but also their interpersonal relationships and conflicts. The series is also likened to The Challenge in that previously known individuals from separate origins of entertainment are brought together into one cast. Tiffany Pollard is an American television personality. She came to public prominence for her participation on the first two seasons of VH1's Flavor of Love (2006–2007). Pollard was given the nickname "New York" by rapper Flavor Flav. She is also known colloquially by her self-proclaimed nickname "HBIC" – an acronym for "Head Bitch in Charge" – which she exclaimed in the Flavor of Love series to taunt her competitors. Her temperamental and outspoken nature often led to tension with the other women on the show but made her an instant fan favorite.

Rock of Love with Bret Michaels is an American reality television dating game show. It stars Bret Michaels, the lead singer from the band Poison. The show closely resembles the show Flavor of Love. The first season featured 25 women competing to be Michaels' girlfriend. Each week, the women face challenges, the winner of which gets to go on a date with Michaels. Some of the challenges were based on situations that they might encounter if chosen to be Michaels' girlfriend. The first season winner was 24-year-old Jes Rickleff from Naperville, Illinois. At the reunion, she revealed that she did not have romantic feelings for Michaels, and that she thought that he should have chosen the runner-up, Heather.
Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School is the first season of the VH1 reality show Charm School. It is a spin-off of Flavor of Love created by the producers of The Surreal Life and Flavor of Love spin-off I Love New York. It is hosted by comedian actress Mo'Nique, assisted by talent agency president Keith Lewis and magazine beauty director Mikki Taylor, and features thirteen contestants from the first two seasons of Flavor of Love, assigned the challenge of developing proper etiquette in a competition for $50,000 and the title of "Charm School Queen." The show was recorded over 25 days in an Encino mansion during Fall 2006. Saaphyri Windsor was ultimately named Charm School Queen and was awarded the $50,000.

Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels is the third season of Rock of Love with Bret Michaels and was confirmed by VH1's website in a blog on July 16, 2008. In the show, eligible women live on tour buses and travel with Bret Michaels, competing for his attention and affection. The show premiered on January 4, 2009. On December 29, 2008 it was announced Rock of Love Bus would be the final Rock of Love.

Real Chance of Love is an American reality television dating game show featuring two brothers, Ahmad "Real" Givens and Kamal "Chance" Givens,, of the rap group The Stallionares, former contestants on I Love New York, who are looking for love. The show was first brought up in August 2007 when Mr. Boston of the first season of I Love New York was offered his own reality show. Boston declined and the plans eventually fell through, leaving the show to be picked up by Real and Chance.
Charm School with Ricki Lake is the third and final season of the VH1 reality television series Charm School. Fourteen contestants from Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels and Real Chance of Love must change their old ways and learn improvement through acts of charity work. Ricki Lake is the headmistress of the Charm School, and is assisted by deans Alani "La La" Vazquez and Stryker. Ebony Jones (Risky) was ultimately named Charm School Queen and was awarded the $100,000.
Saaphyri Windsor is an American reality television contestant. Windsor is best known for appearing on Flavor of Love 2 and winning Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School. After the show, Windsor launched a unisex lip balm called Saaphyri's Lip Chap which stemmed from Saaphyri offering H-Town "lip chap" after their fight on Flavor of Love 2.
