Saaphyri Windsor [1] [2] (born Wanda Scott) [3] is an American reality television star and actress, best known for appearing on hit VH1 celebreality show Flavor of Love season 2 and for winning Flavor of Love: Charm School . [4] After the show, Windsor launched a unisex lip balm named Saaphyri's Lip Chap, [5] which stemmed from Windsor offering Flavor of Love season 2 contestant "H-Town" lip chap after their physical altercation. [6]
In 2005 Windsor would film the pilot for the future Flavor of Love . In 2006 she would participate in the second season of the show. Shortly after entering the house she would get into a physical altercation with fellow contestant Renee "H-Town" Austin. The altercation began after Austin believed Windsor had stolen the bed she'd claimed for herself. [7] Austin would then assault Windsor by throwing a bouquet of roses in Windsor's face, which had been given to her by Flavor Flav. After the fight Austin would call Windsor racial slurs and claim that the house was not the "streets of Compton". Famously after the fight, Windsor would offer Austin "lip chap" after Austin and Windsor would be separated from the rest of the house, Windsor would also apologize to God, before being interrupted by Austin. It was decided by Flavor Flav that Windsor initiated the altercation and she was sent home and disqualified from the competition less than an hour into filming.
After her memorable appearance on Flavor of Love, Windsor would appear on The Tyra Banks Show.
In 2007 Windsor would take part in VH1 spin-off Flavor of Love: Charm School. The show featured thirteen of the most memorable Flavor of Love contestants competing for a $50,000 prize. The show featured challenges which were set in place to help the girls redeem their image from their respective Flavor of Love seasons. Windsor would win the show [8] and as a final gift, Charm School headmistress, Mo'Nique would give Windsor back her UGG boots, which Windsor had donated during a challenge. In 2007 she also made a guest appearance in an episode of the Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav.
In 2008 Windsor would make a guest appearance in the third season of Flavor of Love alongside Becky "Buckwild" Johnston as a judge in one of the competitions. She would also be a contestant on the game-show Hole in the Wall .
In 2009 Windsor would take part in the second season of VH1 spin-off show I Love Money. Windsor would place fifth after being automatically eliminated in the season finale after placing last in the challenge, becoming the "dead-last-loser". Windsor would appear in all episodes, except the reunion special due to legal issues. Her most notable moment would be when she faked fainting to avoid being put in the bottom three, to be at risk of elimination.
She appeared on an episode of Botched in 2014.
During the filming of Flavor of Love season 2, Windsor was on the run from the law. After her altercation with Austin she was hoping the police were not called by production as she had a warrant out for her arrest.
In January 2009, Windsor was sentenced to three years in prison after failing to show up for a November 2005 court date, for forgery charges. [9] She served 20 months of her sentence and was released in August 2010. [9]
In 2021 Windsor was the victim of a death hoax. It was reported by multiple sites that Windsor had passed away after a post was made to social media. Windsor would then release a video claiming she was alive and well and that a hacker had made the false post and apologized for any upset caused by the false report. [10]
