Iain Brambell (born November 10, 1973 [1] ) was born and raised in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia. [1] Brambell is a three time Canadian Olympic rower having competed in Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008. He is a graduate of Brock University and The University of Western Ontario.

He won a bronze medal at the 2002 world championships in Seville, Spain in the men's lightweight fours event.

At the 2008 Summer Olympics he won a Bronze in the Men's Lightweight Four with Mike Lewis, Liam Parsons and Jon Beare. [2]

Brambell has successfully transitioned from being a high performance athlete to a high performance sport administrator. He has held high performance advisory roles within the Australian Sport Commission & Own The Podium, and High Performance Director roles with Rowing Canada Aviron and Australian Sailing.

He is regarded as one of Australia's greatest ever rowers figuring in senior representative squads consistently from 1977 to 1996 and representing Australia on eighteen occasions at three Olympics and fifteen World Rowing Championships. He competed at the highest levels as both a sculler and a sweep oarsman, in both lightweight and open divisions, across all boat classes. He won twenty-nine Australian national championship titles in his career.

The Adelaide University Boat Club is a rowing club affiliated with the University of Adelaide. The club was founded in 1881, and in 1896 helped to form the Adelaide University Sports Association. The main clubrooms, donated by Robert Barr Smith in 1909, are located on the north bank of the River Torrens on War Memorial Drive, adjacent to the Adelaide University Sports Grounds. The shed has two boat bays, a gym and weights room and a small bar. The club also leases a secondary boatshed at the South Australian Rowing Association complex on Military Road at West Lakes, and also trains regularly at Port Adelaide's North Arm Creek and Murray Bridge. Members have included rowers of all levels, from total beginners to Olympic Gold Medallists. The club shares the nickname "The Blacks" with the Adelaide University Football Club.

Ian Andrew Wright is a former New Zealand rower who won an Olympic bronze medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. Wright has won 31 national titles during his career. After his rowing career ended, he became a coach and his Swiss lightweight men's four team won gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He is now Australia's head rowing coach announced in September 2016. He immediately coached the Australian men's four to a gold medal at the 2017 world rowing championships.

James Andrew Byrnes is a Canadian rower and Olympic gold medallist. He was born in Toronto, Ontario and raised in Ithaca, New York. Byrnes is a 2005 graduate of Bates College in Maine, where he rowed for the Bates Rowing Team and earned a master's degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006.

UTS Haberfield Rowing Club in Sydney was formed as Haberfield Rowing Club in 1925. It has occupied its current site on Port Jackson's, Iron Cove at Dobroyd Point since 1926. The club had a senior and lightweight Sydney premiership & national competition focus until 1992 when it became aligned with the University of Technology, Sydney and since then it has also been a varsity club. Its elite program has enjoyed great success since the 1990s with a number of the club's oarsmen and women making Australian Olympic selection since then.

John Keogh is an Australian elite performance rowing coach and a former national representative rower. As lightweight oarsman he was a dual national champion in 1991 and an Australian representative in the men's lightweight four at the 1991 & 1992 World Championships. He has been a high performance coach for British Rowing, then from 2010 to 2016 he led the women's programme at Rowing Canada. Since 2016 he has been the head women's coach at Rowing Australia.
